That is just the line rental on the sim his monthly payments cover the phone it's just a phone on finance really and like I said if he does not honour his payments my phone will be blocked .
And also the lack of description citing that the phone was on contract he simply only said locked to EE he expected me to know it was a contract phone from this information, I can go into the ED shop tomorrow and buy an I phone 6 for £500 cash on pay as you go just stating locked to EE doesn't necessarily mean it's on a contract.
Thanks
EE will charge around £25 to unlock it when they are ready too but it is likely to be the original owner only will be able to ask anyway.
Don't understand why you did not spend another £15 to avoid all the current and possible future hassle.0 -
He does not fully own that handset until he's paid his full contract come on you should know this that's why the phone provider will block the imei associated with that phone if he fails to pay the bill if he Owned the phone like you say they would just block the sim. It's like buying anything a car for eg you do not keep up payments the car will get repossessed My main concern anyway is if he stops paying for the monthly contract my phone gets blocked I have no comeback and a useless phone
all great. once more, how did you think you were getting an EE locked iphone without it having been part of a contract deal?0 -
The lack of information in the auction aswel you should state clearly that this phone is under a contract for the X amount of years there was nothing to suggest this false advertising to me that is.0

It is nothing like a car- that is why I expressly asked whether this phone was just a contract phone or was bought on finance via somewhere like Brighthouse.
If I buy a car using a bank loan the car is mine to do with as I please, I would still need to pay off the loan- but the bank does not own the car at any point.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. lol. you are the type of person who should buy retail.
thousands of phones a year are sold on ebay with people still having contracts.
You seem to know all about contracts and it matters to you. so why not ask?0 -

That's different your example above. If you buy a car say direct from arnold Clark their finance company has every right to repossess the car if payments are not met and if you do not meet your bank payments there will be repercussions like there will be with me if payments aren't fulfilled0 -
Because you can go and buy any phone from any phone carrier on pay as you go locked to their network.
I think you have misunderstood where most private sellers get their phones from when they sell on ebay. However, you do not have the right to a change of mind return if this is a private seller, purely because you misunderstand how phone contracts work.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
