I had to google that one.
Known in Europe as 'Sunbeam Avenger'
I remember those...
We went on our honeymoon in one of those. Hired. We were too poor to own a car. Spent most of our time after the 1st 3 days (in hotel) driving it round the Llyn. Despite getting married in June we had a force 8 gale on our wedding day accompanied by torrential rain. There are more wedding photos of the driver of the wedding car holding umbrella over people than of any of the guests! :rotfl: And the wind and rain and cold continued! We were staying in OH's parents first caravan on this site. It was tiny, you had to take the table top off and put it between the 2 seats to make a bed. No heating. Dig a hole to dump the stuff from the chemical toilet (at least that was in a spidery  shed rather than a tent) was always the first job on arrival. First time in a caravan for me. It was just so COLD! So we just drove around and explored as at least the heater in the car worked well! We ended up going home 2 days early, and immediately there was a heat wave!PasturesNew wrote: »I've had too many cars to even think about listing. In the last 20 years I've had three cars. In the 15 years before that I had 10-12 cars, one motorbike and about 3 mopeds.
Wow respect for the motorbike! After so long trying to get in a band as a drummer, Josh has been asked to be in a band...as a singer!
Fabulous news! :j0 -
Our next door neighbours are in for a treat when they get home. Fences have come down on both sides. On our side it's their responsibility. On the other, it's their new next door neighbours who moved in yesterday!
It's getting worse.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Lost Island has a ring to it, don't you think? I think to tow it we might need a boat, and it might be nicer to stay still? I'm not sure we could move fast enough to make use of mild British summers and then go south for winter and still avoid the bad winds, oceans aren't my area of knowledge. I'd form a cabinet to take care of that sort of thing.
This made me think of the floating Island of San Serif - a Grauniad April Fool joke ages ago - 70s? According to this, 1977.The only car I've had was Cle'mence, my Peugeot 206. Still miss her
Oh Mas, hugs. Sorry you still miss her. Might you think of a new car (or new to you anyway) in the near future, now you have job? Or is driving/parking too much of a problem where you are at the mo?PasturesNew wrote: »
Just spotted a wood louse crawling across the living room floor!!!! Had to quickly open the door and get two bits of card and lob him into the garden.
You have a kind heart dear PN.:T I'm so happy that you saved that little slater and didn't just squidge it. :j

Nothing to do with a kind heart - squidging would make a horrible noise and mess. If you get two rigid bits of card you can scoop them up and lob them outside. I then watch to check they're walking away from the house... if they aren't, I go out and give them a bit of a flick with the card again0 -
Yep, fir got the job. Its a year contract and a cv enhancer, so worth the poverty, plus time together, it seems he can choose his days, so long as they are the same days through out.....any reason not to choose tues, we'd, thurs?0

70 firefighters, 8 engines. Bit of a biggun. Gorse fire. 10 minutes ago:

I'd go for Tue-Thur. That means just two nights per week away from you?
The main snags are:
Miss the Monday morning team meetings. (Did I say that's a snag?)
Colleagues expect you to do a full-time job, even though you are only paid part time.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
LIR, you may like this question posed on a legal forum.
"Our neighbours have chickens, who are very free range and have taken to laying eggs in various places including our yard.
Who owns the eggs?
(Merely out of interest, because he's said we can have them - though we now have too many ) "No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Best days.
Don't forget there should be a pro-rata entitlement to holiday in lieu of bank holidays. Essentially 0.6 of 28 days - if he gets holiday leave on a contract?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
