    I think I like it.

    I'm not sure.

ETA I do like the flowers etc. I'm not sure about the copper tub though. But i can't think which other finish/metal the flowery bits would look as good with.

But the loss of separation does grate.

    In winter you
have flames to separate. In summer you could stack piles of logs between?

Work is good. I got an internal move and am working p/t, 3 days a week as an equity analyst, i.e. helping people decide what shares to buy and to sell. Love it, absolutely love it.

Well I could use your expertise if house sale goes through OK. Though I'm thinking I'd do better buying antiques rather than shares. <roll eyes smiley> I know more about antiques than bonds and shares. And at least you have nice things to look at! :) Or wear if jewellery. :) :j
    Ok, style question number two.....,

I do not have ghost chairs :(:(:(

I have the less stylish but surprisingly comfortable Perspex chair from ikea. But only eight of them. I'm having a quandry ...sell /free cycle ( this actually means gift to a friend of mine who sells on ebay for a living) and eventually replace when ready with something else or, accepting they are comfortable and I don't hate them, even if I don't love them, get hold of more.

If they're comfortable I'd stick with them. And IKEA has to be the Money Saving option too?

Nothing to do with a kind heart - squidging would make a horrible noise and mess. If you get two rigid bits of card you can scoop them up and lob them outside. I then watch to check they're walking away from the house... if they aren't, I go out and give them a bit of a flick with the card again :)

I quite like woodlice - I always think they look like miniature armadillos :D

ETA lir That's great news! Apart from anything else, I'm happy to think you won't be on your own so much.

Single Sue Wonderful news re Josh and the band! Is he thinking about it?

    Best days.

Don't forget there should be a pro-rata entitlement to holiday in lieu of bank holidays. Essentially 0.6 of 28 days - if he gets holiday leave on a contract?

Yeah, he will, didn't ask how much though, tbh, its going to be so much time its going to be a bit of a shock to the system.

He's probably going to have to ask a friend or relative he can sofa surf the two nights a week.

I don't really like it tbh, but I thought it deserved an airing. :)

I'm not so often on my own because I have the resident parent. I've only had the last month alone and its gone way too fast!!! :o

But it WILL be good to have fir here more. Essentially it means he'll be looking for a job for a whole year.

One of the good things? Sadistic boss is going to have to go to fir's place of work for approval. Fir's covering for the HOD.

Yep, fir got the job. Its a year contract and a cv enhancer, so worth the poverty, plus time together, it seems he can choose his days, so long as they are the same days through out.....any reason not to choose tues, we'd, thurs?

No reason to not pick those three days, but it does depend what you're trying to achieve and looking at holiday entitlement and the days that bank holidays fall on in the coming year.

It's not rained much here. There were 35' trees apparently bursting into flame and the fire front was 0.5Km wide and growing in the wind. I should check if they've put it out yet.

It's out... and 80 firefighters are still there damping down etc.

80? Sounds like a big operation!

Congratulations to FIR. HOD covering does indeed sound like it'll be great CV-fodder. Enjoy your extra time together too, that's priceless :)

Everybody who is employed gets holiday pay, separate to their pay. Even a temp, hired for one 8 hour day, walks away with holiday pay for those 8 hours.

The only people who don't get it are self-employed contractors.
