I so counting individual days of them isn't part of the mind set.

Note, didn't ask about holiday entitlement at all.....just not in the mindset. :).

Have you seen how much train tickets cost????. Nope. Three days :D.

About the same as a night in a hotel? Get a Tesla and drive?
    I think....

Could he work the same hours spread over 4 days and commute daily instead?

That doesn't make any sense... you lose a day and pay more.

But get to spend every night with LIR - got to be worth it :)

(I am thinking that a 8 hour day plus round trip commute (2 hours each way?) might be too tiring whereas a 6 hour day plus the commute would be ok)

Charmer and wonderful defender of conjugal rights.

A couple of nights off is fine. :) The sound of money being wasted on non sensual things is a bit of an inhibitor to my libido.

Commuting daily isn't going to happen I don't think. I'm pretty sure although its part time he'll still not be working an eight hour day, at least initially.

We will see. I might be quite wrong. But if he commutes daily he'll have to get another job to pay for it :rotfl:

    Ok, style question number two.....,

I do not have ghost chairs :(:(:(

I have the less stylish but surprisingly comfortable Perspex chair from ikea. But only eight of them. I'm having a quandry ...sell /free cycle ( this actually means gift to a friend of mine who sells on ebay for a living) and eventually replace when ready with something else or, accepting they are comfortable and I don't hate them, even if I don't love them, get hold of more.

What on earth are ghost chairs?

See, this question is very gender dependent imo. A bloke would go "the chairs are comfy, ergo they're fine", whereas a lady would dislike how they look, don't fit in the room, be aware that feeling would grate so would get rid.

Our next door neighbours are in for a treat when they get home. Fences have come down on both sides. On our side it's their responsibility. On the other, it's their new next door neighbours who moved in yesterday!

    It's getting worse.

I want to replace the fence, but not for 2 years if I can help it. One panel here looks pretty gone. New neighbour who moved in has put a big board on their side as they have a dog. I'm hoping it doesn't get mentioned for a while!

I dislike them as they represent damp. Previous owners had a small bad practice I've had to correct and there were woodlice outside when I arrived. I'm hoping my correction will have sent them packing. There might be some more to get rid of over the coming year, but then I'll be rid of them. I am confused by this one this morning and I wonder if I'd picked it up on my flared leggings as I'd just been outside for 5 minutes. But I'm on top of them.... they will not be tolerated.

    PN,

You seem like an expert on woodlice. In our house I have noticed that little b@ggers getting inside our house near our PVC patio doors. Any ideas?
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

Well, look what the wind bought us. Welcome back.
What you listening to now? I'm finding this exceptionally pleasant.
Listening to a LOT of 2 particular things,

Underwold. dubnobasswithmyheadman got a 20th anniversary release late last year. They released a 5cd boxset, and did a mini tour recently. I tootled off to Bristol (nearest venue) & it was magnificent!
Been really enjoying some of the remixes/alt versions from the boxset, especially in the car.

The other thing is James recently released a limited boxset of the album Laid, with its companion album Wah Wah. I got the 4cd boxset with a load of extra gubbins that I'm loving. The remastering is awesome. I really like James, and both albums are phenomenal, and can be listened to whole very easily. (they also did 500 of each in clear vinyl, which I had to purchase too :o )

If it is the sort of place where they don't usually have part timers and are not used to the rules, they may try and say you only get the bank holidays if you work on that day, so then you want a monday as a working day.

I went part time for a major employer in the UK, but was one of only a very few who had done so in the central organisation rather than in the field, I got no allowance for not working a Monday.
Indirect sex discrimination, as part time staff are more likely to be female. No leg to stand on there.

Ps - Don't see how Jelly could possibly catch up - I have struggled to catch up just today....
:rotfl:TBH, I haven't bothtered. Not because I don't care, but because I simply don't have the time. I'm sure if there were anything serious/important enough you'd tell me.:)

Some men. :). Others are quite fussy with looks and style. I bet that Wiiliam Morris bloke wouldn't have chucked any old chair in to his room, for example. Or any masters of feng shui. Or fine furniture makers, upholsterers or antique dealers........
