Actually, I imagine that the recipients of your life insurance are probably the people for whom your still not having cancer is the best possible news.

The Boy gets a few grand. That's a lot of Lego/X-boxes etc.

On reflection though, I can't imagine that my beneficiaries would be pleased to see me go and that's on a night when Mrs Generali has the right hump.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I have a funny feeling that he's going to go somewhere else for more money.

You know what Daniel Levy is like.

He always wants to pay about 4 pence when he's buying a player, and then expects about 200 million when he's selling.

    Ok, style question number two.....,

I do not have ghost chairs :(:(:(

I have the less stylish but surprisingly comfortable Perspex chair from ikea. But only eight of them. I'm having a quandry ...sell /free cycle ( this actually means gift to a friend of mine who sells on ebay for a living) and eventually replace when ready with something else or, accepting they are comfortable and I don't hate them, even if I don't love them, get hold of more.

Fir thinks he is going to be offered the job that will see us on rations that will make PN seem like last of the big spenders ;) BUT give him two days a week off. Its a good cv option, if only part time, and the labour can be used for free stuff here. No curtains being made here this year after all though. :(

What we will be trying to do I think is making some progress with the beams in the garden room ceiling ourselves, and working out which of the boards can be saved, and moved a bit to cover that end of the room, ( I think that we can cut the existing boards in half and push the ends out on the ok boards, and use the good sections of boards where there is enough to cover half the room ( from wall to central beam).

Before all that I want to finish the stair case, such a boring job. I cannot help think there must be better ways to do it than I am trying. I am still doing treads and risers, not even started on the fiddly bits of banisters and stuff.

Mismatched chairs are exceedingly fashionable. Especially in your house.

I was thinking of selling some ghost chairs because they don't fit, and leave the end two. Until cousin pointed out that it's the end two that don't fit.

    Very windy here still. :(

Neighbour opposite has a water leak within their boundary. Looks to be coming out of the box in the ground that I assume houses their water meter and/or stopc@ck. Not sure whose responsibility it is at the junction. The water has gone across the pavement and down the road about 50 yds. They work, so may not have noticed this morning or they may be away. I suppose I should report it, but don't want them to incur a big bill if it is something they could have sorted privately.
