I'm a secret fan of Half Man Half Biscuit who come from there. Sorry.
Why secret - often do a bit of seal clubbin' myself:DJust an email. No need for a card.
Overly generous, but I'm a no gift girl anyway. I don't think it's not nice to not send him a card and/or present. He's made his feeling clear, so honour his wishes and don't bother.CKhalvashi wrote: »Just got a bed out the car, admittedly in not so good condition, to have problem neighbour complain about it being outside (it's now all inside, and this was the idea)

And how exactly were you going to get it into the house without it first being outside.....? When my next door neighbours said they were staying for the forseeable future, I nearly hugged them, they are so lovely.
Good luck PN, I agree, comes a point when faffing is fairly pointless.
Well done Maggie - are bringing the bunk beds to the main house or selling them? Or you could put an ad in if you are giving them away and say the price is getting them out of the loft!0 -
A dodgy hug for you, PN. Don't overthink things before you meet the consultant.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

!
Don't know why I said secret TBH. I'm quite a big fan.
Back in the DHSS was the first record I bought that my mum disapproved of because of the immortal track, F...ing Hell It's Fred Titmus. That song of course contains the immortal rhyme:
Dracula comes from Transylvania,
Stevie Nicks books about kleptomania...
All I Want for Xmas is a Dukla Prague Away Kit is a great song too.0 -

Dodgy hug and sloppy kiss, PN
It's never easy with the oldies...especially when there's distance involved
Take care xx0 -

He's away for 2 weeks, we'd have to coordinate an appointment slot and me being down there and transporting the patient to a location 20 miles from where they are, for a face-to-face of just 10 minutes. All from distances of 200-300 miles away.
Over the phone is our preference. Find out what's going on. No point moving heaven and earth to achieve a meeting if the end result is "... maybe... slow moving .... might ...." for 10 minutes.

Or, as my extremely religious grown-up nieces say, CYK. Consider yourself kissed. As they would not want to kiss any man unless married to him, and that in private. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Lots of gentlemen callers this morning Chez Nikkster
First I met the guy who'll be fitting my front door - he came to double check all the measurements for the frame as weather permitting the new door will be happening the week after next.
Then I've had someone who reminded me rather too much of !!!!!! van Dyke (looks wise rather (in his Diagnosis Murder years) than cockerney accent) looking at the chimneys. I've learnt quite a lot, and he seems like a nice chap. Might have a problem with effluorescence, but he doesn't think the dodgy brick chimney is as bad as I feared. Clearly I know next to nothing about chimneys but he did seem genuinely knowledgeable.
I'm hopeful that the chimney work won't be as expensive as I was preparing myself for. Might even be able to get the fireplace put back into the second bedroom and have a bit left over from the amount I had pencilled in.0
