My best place is West Dorset, and I'd be 60% happy there.

Worst is South Holland at 46%

Liverpool scores 53%, and best nearby place is Wirral (boo hiss!) which only gains me 1% over Liverpool. I hate the Wirral, spent the unhappiest years of my life there. :(

I'm a secret fan of Half Man Half Biscuit who come from there. Sorry. :(

It is an amazing place where maggie lives. Wonderful.

I can live a long way on a beautiful view.

Holiday home only! ;) Far too cold in winter! In fact it was pretty chilly last night as we had a howling gale and the seal on the front door seems to have deteriorated so there was loads of cold air blowing in round it. Was very glad of my bedsocks and 2 hot water bottles! :o Newer caravans have better insulation, but we could only afford second hand, so it's about 10 years old now I think. Know what you mean about beautiful views though. We've been pretty lucky everywhere we've lived. New home the view to the river, and old home we had fabulous sunsets and could see Snowdon in the far distance on a very clear day. Best thing there was sitting by a roaring coal fire on a winter day and watching the sunset across the gardens. Lots of sky from the windows too - very unusual in a terraced house.
Reason for plane going down's been announced very quickly.

And it's not very nice is it? _pale_ Really don't know what to think about that. Have to say I wondered if there'd been some sort of leak from engines, apparently there have been cases where something similar to organophosphates have leaked into cabin, and pilots have been very ill.

One of both OH's and Son in Law's favourate bands. I'm sure the Wirral is very nice for people who haven't spent 9 years of misery in parental home there - kind of poisoned the place for me. Ace place for charity shops though! :)

I'm not so certain, and neither is an A320 SFO currently working for BA. It's been known on several occasions for the A320 family to lose altitude/speed without any obvious reason, but the only issue as far as I can see is the lack of a drop in speed.

AF447 had this, although was an A330, not 320 IIRC.

One of my (frozen) SC curries from last week was calling my name, so I defrosted it and served with chips and a mini naan.... all I really want to do now is snooze.

PasturesNew and her SC...a winning team!

I've got one of those marriage and relationship board type questions, but I'll stay here and maintain some dignity, if that's okay.

BIL is a miserable whatsit and he is 50 tomorrow. He isn't talking to us. I'm not amazingly bothered as his tantrum was quite spectacular and I've got more self respect than to allow people to talk to me like that (for the record, no one that I haven't lived with ever has). He confiscated my xmas present for doozer by means of collecting it from the post office after I asked SIL if she would receive it while we were away, and kept it. Nothing was forthcoming for my birthday, obv, and he nearly sabotaged it.

I think I should get a card and possibly a small gift, because it's family and I'm not petty. But writing it down, I think a card is enough, non?

I think if you really don't get on, a card will be sufficient Doozer.

I used to live in one, as that was about 1988/1990 and it was an old one then it was an early 1970s model. The front door was fully glazed in an aluminium frame - and in the winter it'd freeze overnight, in the morning I had to "kick" my way out (without breaking the glass). During the day the ice would melt and pool at the bottom of the caravan door; then overnight, that ice would freeze again, jamming the door shut.

This one is double glazed (last one wasn't), but that doesn't help when the wind is whistling round the edges! :rotfl: Windows don't seem too bad at least in the living room (don't really bother with most of the other rooms much except to chuck stuff in them so out of the way). Not all of them are openable though. My pet peeve is the front windows that stretch across the whole van don't open. When there's cows in the next door field we get a lot of flies and they all congregate on the unopenable windows at the front.

Actually it's not *too* bad when it's just flies, it's when its wasps it does me head in. ;):o Had a nest in the hedge a few years back and it was a nightmare. Son in law of chap across the field came over, doused it in diesel and set fire! He did warn me when he was about to do it so I could shut all doors and windows, then after leaped into his landrover and drove away fast! :rotfl: Solved the problem, though there were a couple that escaped hanging around for a few days.

Surely that's theft? Turn the b*st*rd in to the cops, and don't even bother with a card. What a w****r.

You made me laugh! He can't even use it, it was just spite. As it was I ordered another which arrived at home on Xmas Eve. I don't want to hurt SIL, really and I guess that is why I have been considering a gift.
