Hard yes. Very hard indeed for some. Possibly so hard that the stress outweighs the benefits in a few cases. But impossible? Many prove that wrong.
I found it really quite easy to give up, personally. OH found it more difficult but succeeded.
I think the reason a lot of people fail is that they don't really want to quit.0 -
Is this special vit d? We just get some from Boots. £5 for 100 tablets, plus a 3 for 2 deal.
Well, mine will be covered my my pre pay .....
Boots means trip to another town and stairs and a walk and paid for parking. None of which I'm opposed to, and I could get some mascara, only then I have to sleep for about seven hours :rotfl:0 -
You've still got a helluva lot more goes before you're even with them!
Guessing - this way it gets delivered (fingers crossed) and is likely to be covered by an NHS pre-payment certificate.
Other guesses - can get different strengths/ formulations on prescription
No idea what strength I'm getting yet, I'll see. GP might have said I think! but I have forgotten.chewmylegoff wrote: »I found it really quite easy to give up, personally. OH found it more difficult but succeeded.

I found it easy too, but if was never a heavy nor addicted smoker. For generali its different, I can respect that. Interestingly, though, and with no lack of love for Gen, its interesting to me he writes as though he finds this mindset hard to appreciate in his in laws attitude to food/ eating habits.0 -
I am about to get ready to go out. I should probably push the boat out and put some make-up on for the first time in 2015 :eek:0

While I was out today I parked next to a car that often passes our house. The owner came out and I said,hill..you pass our house a lot and introduced myself. She sort of introduced herself back and I went to go into the shops, saying my normal good bye to the dogs. The woman looked really affronted.
Its just clicked that I think she thought I walked off telling her to 'be good, I'll be back soon'0 -

It's like when I casually call 'Dog, Dog!' over my shoulder at Doglet. People bristle for a minute, thinking I mean them, but they relax again when the little mutt comes running up.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

well, I just walked off, so unless she looked in the the RR and saw my Dogdog and kiwi ( who ATM looks a bit more like a very grubby well loved teddy) she still thinks I meant her I think.

Viva, sorry to hear your news. Thinking of you and your family.
I have eaten a lot of cake today in honour of red nose day, we raised £140 at work with home bakes
Unfortunately I had to buy some Plan B muffins as my Plan A shortbread wouldn't come out of the mould this morning ... I blame Delia, who said leave it till cold before removing it in her ancient cookbook. Yes, I tried using a knife but that just made it break into shavings  :rotfl:I an treating myself to a day off today.
I have just planted some seeds :j
I've also spoken to my dad, who is coming to stay for the weekend, to ask him to bring some tools with him as there are a few jobs I'd like some help with. He sounded pleased
And it's not even 10 yet!
Excellent - which seeds?
My parents have been long well-trained on putting the gardening / tools in the car boot before they pack anything else

@trev - I don't know whether it helps or not but it really is effectively impossible to quit smoking. I must have quit well over 100 times. I even had a doctor tell me to start smoking again once.
@All - Don't smoke. Don't hate on smokers.
It took me over 30 times. I don't know many people who stopped easily. It becomes a force of habit as well as a chemical habit. Plus it was amazingly common. Everybody smoked everywhere. If you quit, you were the one breaking ranks and you got no support.
I only quite after watching a documentary in the early 80s about people getting their legs sawn off from nicotine-induced gangrene or wearing space suits to go out into their gardens. They should show stuff like that on the telly now.
I have every sympathy for every older person who smokes or smoked. the world was like that. You could smoke on buses and trains and planes. It was the old normal. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
