It's too late. If you don't include that photo now you a re making a statement ( unless none of the photos have anyone else in at all including brother and you guys).

Well they weren't going to. It was going to be solely him. That makes it a really big statement - 20 photos of him on his own then 1 with GF.

Onwards and upwards: I managed 800m/half mile today and only had to stop because The Girl's swimming lesson finished. I might try to push on for the kilometre tomorrow, I'll see how my back feels.

If anyone can hear loud anguished wailing in the south of England, its probably coming from here. I forgot to take chicken wings out of the freezer for the cats last night. The outrage is .......not insignificant nor is it quiet.

Josh has now had four uni offers, with one interview/audition left to go to. That is today and is the closest out of the 5 as it is in Colchester.

That one was added to give him the option of staying at home while going to uni plus the course is pretty decent.

He is also performing tonight in the main annual school production, so it is going to be rush rush to get him back in time and be relaxed from our travels!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Never under estimate the power of photo editing software if needs be. Leave her in for now, don't make a fuss, try and get some others discreetly, maybe from his social networking. You can also change things down the line if needed.

People take tons of photos now, there will always be another, somewhere.

Fir stopped talking to his family and I had to make him call his father every month or so and his siblings to try and rectify things over time. Young love can be incredibly powerful and young men can love in the most incredible way. A way that fairy tales are written about.

I just hate the idea of any silliness in your life over the next few years over a little photo.

I think the fact that there are no other people in any of the other photos does make a difference. What do you think would happen if you said "Actuallly I really need one with just you in it. Could you get GF to take one of you and send it to me?" By including her in the request to take the photo, you're sending a message that this is not about excluding her, and then when he sees the video on his birthday you can say something like, "Now you've seen that the other photos are all of you on your own without any of us family members, can you see why I wanted one of you on your own for the 21st pic?" And then turn to the GF and thank her for taking it.

But then I come from a family who are very big on "not taking offence easily" so while I'm confident that any member of my family of origin would be cool with the approach I've suggested, I know that other families are not like that (including, I'm afraid, some of the people who've married into my family), so I may be underestimating the potential for upsetting him.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Do you know any of his mates that could take a photo for you?

I'm abandoning plan A. Plan B will have lots of people in different photos, so it won't be too obvious. I'll have to remember to explain to him that this is Plan B, or he will wonder why I made the repeated request.

I was looking at it from his point of view too. What happens if he looked at Plan A and thought that he can't show it to her, in case it gives her the idea that their future is together and he hasn't thought further down the line than the end of uni in 3 months?

Ouch! It will heal. I do wonder how you scrape your face if you put out your hand to break your fall?

I tripped over a step when walking back from the pub (no alcohol involved, honest guv!) while pushing my bike. If it wasn't for my bike helmet, I'd have hit my face as well as hurt my hand :o

We've bought at auction many times. Either bought cash and subsequently remortgaged, or used business banking loan or overdraft as they always move quickly on it.

Never risked it with a mortgage company. It's stressful enough without waiting weeks for a survey.

I seem to recall posts on the Mortgages board about people who wanted to take out a mortgage within 6 months of buying at auction, and it proving difficult because of the usual 6-month rule.

I am coming back, slowly, to the land of the 'time to do other stuff' :T

The assessment where I had to design and deliver a training session has been and gone, successfully (no panic attack - almost enjoyed myself  :) ). The 1000 word report evaluating the session is in draft format for tweaking and submission within a week. Then just one creative activity, one webinar, and one final 2500 word assessment (to be submitted in mid March).

Can't quite believe that the end really is in sight. I'll have to find other excuses for not yet putting the Christmas tree into its box (at least the tinsel and lights are now packed away :o ) ... :A
