Did you see the video car across the road?
Yeah, probably. I'm the one in the hoodie and joggers coming out of the house with the broken wall. Just so you can look out for me.0 -
I think this is fascinating, especially as DS is allergic to peanuts:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-31550816
He has never been exposed to nuts as when he was first being weaned he seemed to be slightly allergic to cows milk (at about 5 months, since grown out of) so we were told to avoid peanuts and later he had pin !!!!! tests that showed a large reaction so we have continued to avoid all nuts but perhaps if he had been introduced to them normally when he was a baby he would have been fine.....I think....0 -

You can only do what medical advice is at the time ( and remains).
When I started getting snivelly around horses my mother said if I wanted to keep at it I better start grooming them more:rotfl: For me she was right, but then......peanut allergy is a very different game.
Similarly, we know children benefit ( practically) from mud and non sterile environments........as opposed to living in filth or OCD clean homes. My guess is getting right level of sterility for health is relatively low on the list when just trying to get things done or put them off.
Did you read / hear about the introducing peanut trials to allergy sufferers? They were successful too I think.0 -

Life expectancy tables have been produced for Ancient Rome**, and the average was around 30-35 years. I forget the exact figures, but that average was composed of roughly half the population dying in childhood and the other half living until 60-70. It was much the same in this country in Victorian times. The current tendency to keep children very clean stems largely from that heritage.
**from the inscriptions on grave stones. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
What they did was: get married, have babies, lose some, die in childbirth and marry somebody else and have more kids... and loads in the family tree will have had 1-2 marriages and assorted children through this process. Women married somebody else as they needed supporting - else they went to the workhouse; men married somebody else as they had kids and needed somebody to look after the ones they already had.
People must have been less fussy; nowadays they would live together for 5 years to see if they are suited.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. That's pretty terrible. It would be less frustrating if you could not hear anything. If I had to rate that on a 0-10 scale, where 10 is a nuclear holocaust, I'd have to give it a 5 or 6.
You could switch subtitles on, in which case it would only rate a 3 or 4.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

When signal goes subtitles jumble too.

Far better to lob it out of the car window - it gives people in the countryside something to do because it's so boring in the countryside0 -

Not sure whether this was from a passing visitor to the countryside or a more long-term one...0
