I thought he'd always had it long and it was Youngest who got his cut short.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Correct.....Josh is absolutely refusing to have his hair cut as short as the other two.

At one point, all 3 had very long hair. James did it to annoy his father, youngest did it because he was freaked out by the thought of someone touching him, Josh does it because it suits his image of a rock drummer.

    Edit

We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I don't think that any of my family have died from being thrown in a cesspit, so that's one talking point I'm lacking.

DW is quite down today. 'What is the point of life?' Well, she's the religious one, not me. I expect she'll feel better after a walk, but it is sooooo cold!

I'd not do camping. Happy to kip on the back seat of a car/similar, but not outside, under a bit of canvas, on the hard ground. Back seat of the car, or airbed in the boot, fine.

yesterday morning on Radio 4 there was a discussion including an /iranian comic and a hostage negotiator.the comic reported that he gets asked if muslims had a sense of humour. He responds "no" then goes on to explain. You have a joke that there is an Englishman an irishman and a Scot To us that's a hostage situation.
There followed a discussion about some cultures have no embarrassment about making Jokes and the presenter recounted an Incident John McCarthy had spoken of. JMc ha taken a taxi from Belfst airport to a speaking engagement. On the way the taxi driver gave hm look of recognition before asking him "are you John mcCarthy?". He affirmed he was to which the taxi driver responded . "Would you be happier travelling in the boot?"

I think you need to put your heating up for a bit PN. I know you don't like to because of the cost, but it sounds as though you are too cold to keep it low. Even if you camp in one room to reduce bills and just heat that.

    Would that help?

It has been bitterly cold out today. And the wind chill.... brrrrrrr

Thanks for the advice, PN. We did get out in the end, and mood improved! We even delivered the residents association newsletter to our Street.

We paid a visit to the lottie today, but it was too cold to stay and weed. The chilly wind from the North was blowing straight at us. So we came home and sat in the porch in the sunshine, much more sheltered up here! Must try to finish pruning the ornamental quince in front garden tomorrow as it's Green Bin Day on Tuesday, and I want to get the quince prunings taken - it suckers like mad, so don't want to try compost it here.

Did you think mostly of kittens? Or pies?
I hope it wasn't both ... kitten pies are mean!

Speaking of pies .... it's so cold I think I should get on the outside of a pie/chips in the next 10 minutes. Heat myself from the inside.
