Had the pleasure of the Black Cat Roundabout today :) Three times :):)

Got to meet an ickle baby too. Very cute, but quite fond of crying. Pulls the saddest little face when it's crying - full bottom lip going and everything. I thought my heart was going to break :(

    Still feeling broody :o

Snooze and lose :( Been looking at a local flat with the thought of purchasing as a btl but not got round to doing anything and it has gone 'sold' on rightmove today :(

Welcome to my world. Got outbid on one last week. Had 5 asking price offers within 3 days. EA asked for final offers; we weren't playing that game.

I'm a bit lost. If you can't find work, can't you apply for benefits?
You're way off the mark. I wasn't discussing me working, or if I could get a job or not. I was just responding to Lydia's comment that my choices are different to hers, which was made in response to the discussion about michaels' spending/saving and what he does with his money/life/time.

Maybe you skipped some pages. Naughty boy. Don't be so slack - go back and read everything.... :)

He's not THAT lost. You post about your choices being constrained by your limited income shortly after a post in which you detail your earnings for the most recent tax year as having been low enough that you would very clearly qualify for benefits. If GDB happens not to remember your post a long time ago (at least a year and maybe several IIRC) explaining why you don't claim benefits, then his question seems reasonable to me. He cares about you. He'd like you to have more comfortable financial circumstances. He knows you'd be entitled to benefits, so he wonders why you don't claim them.

Your post says (more or less) that the only reason for your choices being different from mine is because I have more income than you. The thing is, while it may be partly true that in my position you'd be making the same choices as me (although not copying my choice to run the washing machine overnight while I'm asleep), if I were in your position I wouldn't be handling it the way you do - for starters if my earnings were what yours are then I certainly would be claiming benefits.

So we're back to being individuals again. I wouldn't choose to buy a wreck as lir and fir have done, or strive as hard as michaels does to find deals, or live in London as so many NP do, or be self-employed as FC and others are, or emigrate down under as Gen has done, or ... One of the things I most appreciate about the NPT is that I get to know people who are not like me and do different things from the things I do.

Yay! Hope you are very happy living there. :)

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

TBH it's what I like about this board in general.

The internet seems to be ghettoising increasingly. Groups of like minded people gathering together. HPC would be an example of that I guess but there are countless others: liberals and conservatives watch different TV stations; Tottenham and Arsenal fans use separate forums rather than discussing stuff in the pub together.

I think it's leading to a polarisation of views and I don't like it.

Josh's latest drum cover....he had never played this or practiced it before and in fact, it was the first time he had heard the song all the way through, so he was learning as he played.

We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

    Possibly.

If I were really, really bored and remotely mechanically inclined I might be able to get the windows to fart harmonically. :D

I'm not that bored however and definitely not mechanically inclined, so it's not going to happen.

Besides, the wind has picked up and they've now started snoring instead of farting.

Or at least I think they have, that could just be Mrs McT fallen asleep on the couch, I should really go and check but may just finish this glass of whisky first.....
