That's what I thought too - and who would have known how much more would have followed on from that second date
But I guess it's also prime hoarding material. And the important thing is the relationship, not the bits of paper associated with it. Says she who still has tickets from her hol last Oct littering her handbag
I wonder if the mushroom debate could be had alongside one about hoarding. I sense that there are a lot of hoarders here (I know that there's at least one exception in PN, but probably more). DH and I are also hoarders, but are working to change that. I've just ordered the book from the library. Not surprised to find out I'm on a wait list. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? The interesting thing is, we would never have been thinking about it had I not decided to go through and let those things go. Just hanging there they weren't doing anything apart from taking up space and making me feel crowded in but that I had lots of nice stuff. When I really thought about it, while the memories are lovely, the stuff I have outgrown.
It will be really nice if the bag gets to go on other dates or outings with other people now. It was actually dusty in the corner it was shoved inand the receipt shows I really didn't like it that much for a long time.
It was nice to chat about it and realise what it was, and nice ( IMO) to chuck the receipts in to the bag for the bonfire and hope the bag brings someone else good luck too..
I've got rid of quite a few now. Its funny, I find it quite easy to resist buying New stuff. There was a bag I liked more than any I've put in the to go pile today that I didn't buy before Christmas on the basis it was blue and if don't really do blue. Even though it was the colour that was the thing I liked about it. Its interesting to me I have put of parting with stuff I don't love but can forgo stuff i do like.
I have also cleared out two ikea bags of clothes. Clothes I've precious
Y hung on to because they are sentimental value, or because tdeapite looking really shabby they are always comfortable. I wouldn't say I have been anything like as ruthless with my wardrobe, because very little in my wardrobe actually gives me joy, but the idea of replacing so much gives me even less. I'm just going to keep on with much less to wear I think.0 -

The Marie kondo book?
I still have very mixed views. Lots is hopeless IMO. But the things that lots of people don't like here ( the appreciation for the items, annd gratitude and stuff, I actually DO like) may be less thinking of them as animate but more a spiritual sort of thing, and appreciating their value in my life and how I need to step up and care for things and not fall into the trap of going with the flow for ease, or when to go with the flow for ease......which of the items are really important to me.
E.g. A lot of the storage is talked about being the modern built in storage, she talks a lot about the kind of storage one gets in japan, obviously, and I thought about it and while we are getting some purpose built storage here, I still like wardrobes and funny side boards and stuff.0 -
Yes, that one. I don't tend to buy self help books as I have an aversion to being told what's best for me (this may explain a lot about me). So thought I'd see whether I could read it before throwing it across room in disgust. If it passes the test I may buy. Since working at book central I rarely buy though. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Good plan. Its very love hate I think. I just feel both towards it which is confusing. I think its because of personal circumstances though.
Have to say, looking at the shelves in my room is odd. I do not find my rolled vests on an open ikea hanging shelf thingy attractive. Nor the vertical folding, but if can see things will be easier to get out and keep in better order.
It is weird how things are not so full :rotfl:
I'm wondering if we could find old doors and use them as cupboard doors. ( the hanging stuff is in an alcove that we could turn into a built in cupboard and then make better use of really. I've seen loads of French shutters for sale but would prefer something solid I think.0 -
After recent events I now look (IMO) more like one side of my heritage. In a nod to the other side, I have a haggis in the oven (not a euphemism, I am genuinely cooking a haggis for my dinner). I had to try very hard to dwell more on the cooking instructions than the ingredients (though on principle I'm not sure why offal seems so much worse than 'meat').0

Have just eaten haggis which has the advantage of being easy to cut.

We thought about Burn's night, but I just want something fresher. Char Sui pork and stirfry baby veg and maybe noodles. I'm putting a big red chilli in fir's so his will burn. That's as close as we're getting.0 -

Not for me.... eugh.
Offal isn't meat, it's innards goo.
If I had an idea to cook a haggis I'd have at least bought a veggie one0 -

Vegetarian haggis is DELICIOUS. And what I always choose, on the basis that it is scrumptious.0
