Went to see a film with a friend earlier - Whiplash. Would highly recommend it - it's about a guy at music school, but it's really, really intense and there is some nice jazz music in there too. After that we were going to have a quick look round the shops and my friend was going to get her eyebrows threaded. I somehow got talked into having mine done too  (I think it was the comedown from the adrenaline watching the film...). I've never experienced threading before - or had anyone else go anywhere near my eyebrows! Think I'll have to give it a few days before deciding what I think, it's quite a lot to get used to.

Threading is good, very comfortable, didn't you find?

I've tried to do it for my self ( not eye brows) but I just cannot do it....shame, as its comfortable and would be free. :D

I wish I had decent eyebrows to be worth shaping, but it really can make incredible difference if you do. ( e.g......fir looks scary hairy without his eyebrows done. Lol)

All roundabouts are fine if you know where you're going. So many rely on signs too little/too late and lanes that do odd things. If you suddenly come across a roundabout and need to be in the right lane then you can be stuffed.

I didn't really have time to work out what was going on. I went in there because my friend was having her eyebrows done and before I knew it she said, 'why don't you try it - you can go first' and it was happening. It was more of a strange sensation than anything. I was also thinking about how badly maintained my eyebrows were anyway as I've been lazy with them for the past few months.

It's a bit odd having new eyebrows!

There's one where you have to concentrate that I've encountered a few times.

There's another which threw me the first 2-3x I tried to find my way home from being away. Now I know the score and anticipate it. It's not actually a roundabout as such. It's a junction that's half a roundabout and half people being redirected, where everybody's corralled into lanes (with some odd name shortages) and traffic lights etc. I can now confidently do this one and know I'm headed home - as opposed to realising something went wrong and I need to try to come back at it. As it's not a roundabout, I have to turn off as if avoiding the faux roundabout, get in the right hand lane, then "cross" over/round where the faux roundabout is, waiting/watching for the lights and checking I and other drivers are in the correct and intended lanes.

It looks like a roundabout from maps, until you approach it expecting one, then discover you're in the wrong lane and missed it: goo.gl/maps/TfTGL - site blocks a link being made to google maps, but copy/paste that and you can try it.

The Swindon roundabouts are not nice IMO. The magic roundabout proper is not so bad, but there is one with mini roundabouts, like a mini magic roundabout that is not nice IMO. I also find the place poorly sign posted. I dislike driving there with no sat nav tbh, and addresses of where I want to go, as the signage means very little to me at times.

I've never been an eyebrow person. Looking at them, I seem to have a "blonde stripe" in them, so one looks a lot less wide than the other. However, once I had them waxed (can't remember why) - and on another occasion I was en-route to a wedding and stopped by a sign that said they do eyebrows and I thought "why not - if they can do me immediately I'll have that done". £5 from memory. So in I went. "eyebrows", that was the limit of my knowledge of the subject .... so I was taken by surprise when she threaded them.

I never look at my eyebrows, so no idea if they looked better/worse before or after.... I had them done and that was it.

I which I didn't have to colour mine in, they look silly coloured in, but having half of each eyebrow looks sillier. :(

I've never thought anybody might be looking at me, so what I look like's not been too much of a concern in most things.

Of course people look, I just don't think people ( many people) care as much as I do.

Otoh, you've mentioned getting some quite shabby service at times. I know when I'm feeling better presented I feel more assertive and confident, and smilier. I don't have to do anything but turn up in such a frame of mind to get jollier service I think. If not, I feel more confident in my self when asserting my opinion about any problems. Seems worth drawing on my comedy eyebrows.

I had a twitchy eye lid for days after having mine threaded once, so I'm wary of repeating. I'm always messing with then, so consequently they are now too thin for current fashion and I don't know how to get them to a greater width without going through an unkempt stage in between.

I have to say I know very little about the subject but do think the ones which have been completely plucked then drawn on some where different look ridiculous....

With you on that one. Otherwise I have no opinion on eyebrows at all.

It's one of the good things about leaving an all female team at work: I'm no longer expected to refrain from rolling my eyes when some conversation comes up about eyebrows or whether going on the Sex in the City tour is a waste of time when on a holiday and business trip to New York as you could be shopping instead.
