And, the major thing - there's nothing worse than reading some book by a smug b*st*rd is there :)

No, that really makes one feel like !!!!!!. Best avoided - only read by those who are reading for entertainment, a flick through, a bit of mild interest.

Aww PN, you make me feel loved and understood! :) But then lir made me feel supported and cared about when she posted suggesting the book too. Odd things, human emotions, aren't they?

    Perfect, Lydia. Perfect. :)

Well done, Single Sue! Is this a bit of a bid for freedom as the boys get older? I do hope you get it. You're more than capable.

No mash for Doozergirl. Had a bit of a fail on the diet from this week. Hormones, I think. Still, even being a bit naughty is better than an average week before and my BMI is back within 'normal'.

Edit: may be more naughty now as I've spent the whole day waiting for doozer to come home and have just realised he isn't. Stupendous.

Thank you for the compliment, and well done on the diet. You have achieved a better week than "before". That's progress. :T Try not to label little lapses as fails - it will tempt you to give up on the principle of "might as well be hanged for a sheep as a lamb".

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Did you find somewhere nice to live?

Mm think so! I'm seeing a bit of a variety of places. One at the upper end of the budget that's en suite and has a nice living room and a garden. Really fancy that one. Then there's one that's a bit cheaper and few stops down the line closer to work, without the nice conveniences.

Just have to see how it looks tomorrow. But it's definitely going to be the North West side of the Metropolis.

Also got to pop in to my prospective employer with my passport. Quite looking forward to meeting the people I'll be working with properly :)

Hmm - Back to work tomorrow, first time in a month, I could quite get used to this not working lark (once I win the lottery which will be a long time as I don't buy tickets). May be if my cough sounds ugly enough they will send me home again.....

My home stuff to do list remains daunting to say the least....
    I think....

If you are not well, you should stay away.

My mere bronchitis put me in a similar position after our holiday, then Christmas, then feeling poo.

This week I bought myself an A4 and an A5 book and used the teachings of my friend, who is a time management consultant. I have achieved today what I thought was impossible at the beginning of the week.

Having cut all the crud out of my diet, I have been particularly wheezy twice this week. Once after eating a gluten free chocolate brownie, the other eating Lindt dark chocolate. The culprit is either sugar or cocoa.

I think most of my posts here just remind people that not everybody's perfect, brilliant, talented and able :)

I'm the "voice of the real person, who fails at a lot of stuff".... the world's got far too many perfect smug people telling us all how easy everything is.

    I am that balance :)

It'd not be me if I had a fab house I loved, and was filling it with choice items of expensive interior-design-win fabrics and furnitures.... while multi-tasking and baking the best rising pies in the world.... all while holding down an £80k/year job, driving the latest sports car and holidaying at fab venues 6x a year :)

No one is perfect. Lots of people are smug though. Re easiness...I think it changes with appitude and attitude.

I'm going to attempt some of the kondo method tomorrow,...but my heart 's not in it and I KNOW this is a bad attitude and will make it harder going, heavier work. You are meant to start with clothes. Every single item you own on the floor of your bedroom and what doesn't arrive there in this first gathering she says should go in the bin by default as it wasn't in your consciousness enough to be actively contributing.

I know if I do this I will collapse under the effort. So, lamely, I though I might take a really pathetic dip toe in water and start with scarves :o. Then maybe vests. Or nightwear. Things I feel are manageable in quantity but are not currently adequately contained.

Its hard to do some of it without fir here as some of our clothes drawers are shared ( including pants, and 'winter goods' ) but scarves and nightwear and my vests and tops etc I could do alone and with little physical effort.

Just had a phone call....got an interview on Tuesday! Full time job, in an office, very very local and right up my street.

Eeek, got to dust off and find all my interview clothes now!

    Good luck!

I sneaked a look on the scales on Friday, mum's scales are not the most exact or brilliant but it showed an approx loss of between 4 and 6 pounds...I'm getting my own tomorrow so we can do it slightly more accurately!

    :j

When I changed scales, I had 'put on' about 4lb  Not saying yours will necessarily be different, but if they are, you've still lost the amount you've lost, but just from a different starting point. I also weighed a different amount depending on which floorboard I put the scales on ... ;)

I have been reading but posting infrequently ...

So sorry to hear you've had a harder patch but glad to hear things have improved. :)

As for mash, Delia has a lovely recipe for the leftovers cottage pie we make after Christmas. It includes softened leeks :D Lurvely :D

Try not to get too tired at work tomorrow michaels - look after yourself.

I've just watched the latest episode of Last Tango in Paris! Brilliantly acted, as you'd expect from the cast, but there wasn't much light entertainment in between the emotions!

If you know someone that genuinely manages that, do shout.

If someone does suggest that they do, I say bullsomething.

I do all of it, but I drive chewy's old car ;)
