My dogs ( currently on the bed, with a thick throw over the bed of course) would be horrified). But dogs in the uk live outside too. Collies etc. um, horses for courses doesn't sound quite right. But if you want out door dog pick a suitable type.
I want a constant companion. Maybe I have to move countries.0 -
Ok, ok, I'm almost ready to go out and do something. I'm going to finish pruning the pear trees today.

I hope so.
Inspired by the slow cooker/ daal talk on here, and a couple of yellow stickered aubergines that needed using up, I have what looks like an industrial quantity of lentils + aubergine + garlic, ginger etc in my newly out-of-the-box slow cooker (I washed it out yesterday). It is currently emitting that 'new electrical item' smell, so at least I know it is on.
I had wondered whether I needed to use some small bowls to reduce the size, but I've managed to half-fill it quite easily. I hope it turns out nice, but if not I'll have plenty of meals of it with which to learn to enjoy it.0 -
Well, me and Josh have almost completed our first week on the diet, he has been amazing and has followed it well, despite some of his friends trying to cajole him into having something he shouldn't...he held fast and had the healthy option.
I sneaked a look on the scales on Friday, mum's scales are not the most exact or brilliant but it showed an approx loss of between 4 and 6 pounds...I'm getting my own tomorrow so we can do it slightly more accurately! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Pears done in record time.
Shows I've kept up with that job at least last yeAr. Need to do loads of weeding but its just too wet to get on the ground.
This is the only thing I hate about clay soil. The itching to get on with things when its too wet and before everything has brown on into a jungle.
I think we might go and buy a dog grate for the car this afternoon.
This is going to be a bit like expecting a child to go to her own bed having co slept all her life, dog dog is not going to like it. But their feet are too scratchy for the leather seats in the car.0 -

For reducing the size, you could swap that round by placing a bowl of water in the centre of the cooker, rather than placing the bowl of food in a waterbath ... if you see what I mean. Also works to bring up that minimum fill level.
I made mash with some King Edwards.
I heard somewhere that white pepper's better in mash than black, so bought some the other day and gave it a whirl [a] not impressed I think I used too much.0 -

I think that's because you don't end up with black specks in the mash rather than anything else?
I only have black pepper, so that's what I use. But then I also leave the skins on the potatoes even when I make mash so I don't think I'll be getting a Michelin star any time soon0 -
Just had a phone call....got an interview on Tuesday! Full time job, in an office, very very local and right up my street.
Eeek, got to dust off and find all my interview clothes now!We made it!
