Hmm, the great weevil bish has left us without wild rice.
Hey ho.0 -
hjd - I've asked my daughter and she says the topper seems to make the bed "cosier", i.e., she no longer gets cold feet, but she definitely doesn't find it hot. I know what you mean about the personal microclimate
Maggie I forgot you were in London at the moment! Sounds as if you're having a lovely timeI think my DD and I will have to go and visit Persephone Books, though I'll probably have to take a crowbar in order to get her out again! I hope you're managing to get enough rest-time in between doing things.
Our dinner tonight is stew from the freezer. I'll add a bit more stock while it's heating.0 -
It's a sign of the times.
Spirit,
If you cannot have a takeaway now then I don't know when is a better reason to.
It makes sense to outsource things when tired and rehabbing.
If you like I'll ask fir what we ate when I was first getting well, I don't remember ( and that might be a good thing!)0 -

I wasn't really that nice, but it was special.
Ribena was our 'special' drink. I quite enjoyed it until I was about 8, when I had appendicitis ... all the associated sickness put me right off purple coloured drinks thereafter :cool:neverdespairgirl wrote: »he had 16 ounces between 6.30pm and 11.30pm, which is nearly a pint).
Tomorrow we're all off to my parents' house in Kent for my parents' 40th wedding anniversary and both their 65th birthdays
That's a lot to drink, crumbs!
Hope you've had a good day (you might have posted an update on here by the time I work my way to the end of the thread ... )Sometimes it is, sometimes not. Either me or the bed is uncomfortable so I have to move to shift the aching bits.
What a wimp!
How old is the bed? Do you ever turn / rotate it?0 -
It's a sign of the times.
It is natural to be sad about what you have lost, but there's room for some optimism about future recovery, too. You are just starting on rehab. Things are likely to get better. Probably not 100%, but better. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Have a lovely, relaxing weekPasturesNew wrote: »James Martin, Saturday Kitchen, did a Toadie today, his gran's recipe - and his mum's onion gravy. I've seen him do that before.
I've not done his Toadie recipe, but have got a book with his large Yorkshire recipe. It has a colossal amount of oil in it, and when I made it the result was really quite greasy. I won't repeat that particular recipe again :eek:Confession time: I've never made yorkshire puddings. I don't often make gravy.

Doozergirl wrote: »It's okay. I needn't worry about dinner. I had a nap while waiting for the car. My husband has been and purchased about 20 ready to heat southern fried chicken portions, oven chips and frozen peas from the overpriced Co-op in town. We will eat well tonight.
You'll be eating ALL night if you've got 20 chicken portions to get through:rotfl:
I get calls from a call centre that wants me to pay to stop getting nuisance calls.
