Fir made breakfast this morning. Lovely garlicky and herb laden MUSHROOMS. And an egg. :)

We've missed going over to the fishmonger because we had , um.....other pressing matters to attend to this morning, so we'll think about supper later.

Do you have toast to go with the mushrooms and egg?

    These pressing matters? http://www.oneinchpunch.net/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/extreme-ironing-05.jpg

I will now be having mushrooms for breakfast tomorrow.

You weren't inspired by the ironing, then?

I don't know what to make for dinner. I did just consider Toad in the Hole but the sausages I like are a good 20 minute drive away and my car is currently on stands with its bum in the air having the rear brakes sorted. I may not have time to do that and cook before Strictly.

This afternoon we're planting garlic. I think that helped inspired fir as to the quantity of garlic in our mushrooms. Luckily we both ate them :rotfl:

Yorkshires for meat I understand from silvercars perspective.

    Gravy is unbeatable hm.

Didn't even realise they contained milk. I wonder if they would work well with soya milk?

Apparently DS2-GF was surprised that I hadn't made gravy to go with dinner that time, but the rest of the meal was better than DS2 had led her to expect!:o

I am sure they'd work with a milk alternative :). Its the kind of thing I just don't bother with thinking about because there are so many other things to eat that don't require such adaptation I wouldn't bother myself

Big yorkshires, filled with random veg, mash and gravy then :)

Maggie Are you okay? You've not posted just recently? thinking of you :)

Still in London, so not much time to post... Just catching up on reading now! Lynne's talk at Persephone Books was great, and the salad lunch delicious. What a super shop it is - piles of boxes of books, interesting posters on the walls, fresh flowers. :) Day of rest on Thursday, then yesterday to the William Morris Anarchy and Beauty exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery. I really enjoyed it, but OH not quite so much. But he has his treat today as has gone with SiL to watch Fulham FC.

Confession time: I've never made yorkshire puddings. I don't often make gravy.

And no pets...I think we must be long lost siblings :)

    Yet another euphemism.

For some reason I failed to multiquote Maggie, was discussing with a colleague how easy an ebook reader is, I have the choice of the entire eclectic selection of Herts library ebooks (well those that aren't good enough for anyone else to take out) without leaving my computer desk but nonetheless Maggie's image of boxes of new books are somehow very evocative of something pleasant, there was the story this week of the guy locked in Waterstones after it closed and I have to say I agreed with those who commented on why he had asked to be let out.....
    I think....
