Confession time: I've never made yorkshire puddings. I don't often make gravy.

Roast gravy is dead easy, especially now they take all the fat off the meat.

Just bung in a spoonful of flour and stir it into the fat & juices over the heat. Bung in a glass of wine/slug of brandy and some stock or even just water. Cook for 10 minutes to get rid of the raw flour taste and you're done.

It even makes the washing up simpler!

The consumer finance bloke in The Times wrote about this sort of scam years back. He received a lot of emails etc asking for details of how people could give their bank details in order to take advantage of this!:rotfl:

I'd love to catch one off guard, and be able to scam a scammer :D

I'm not into illegal stuff though, so won't be doing that :)

Fir made breakfast this morning. Lovely garlicky and herb laden MUSHROOMS. And an egg. :)

We've missed going over to the fishmonger because we had , um.....other pressing matters to attend to this morning, so we'll think about supper later.

    I forgot breakfast....and lunch....and dinner.

It was only when we opened the buffet at the party I realised I hadn't eaten all day and that I wasn't even hungry. I had a small plateful and didn't fancy anymore.

Party went well, bands went down very well and my feet hurt.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Didn't even realise they contained milk. I wonder if they would work well with soya milk?

Apparently DS2-GF was surprised that I hadn't made gravy to go with dinner that time, but the rest of the meal was better than DS2 had led her to expect!:o

I used to make them with rice milk and gluten free flour. Not quite the same and not as good but at least the boys didn't miss out.

I've taken the Generalissimos to the club for the meat raffle again. I'm feeling poor this week so I only bought $20 of tickets. So far we've won a steak tray. It's about 3lbs of either sirloin or T bones.

I've been thinking a lot about my future. What do the nice people think of the idea of me chancing my arm at being a food writer? I like writing and am very passionate about food. I thought I could do a growing & cooking blog and try to turn it into a book/newspaper column.

I think its a fine idea, but not something to do instead of a job. :(. There are Hundreds if not thousands of people's trying to do this.......so its a popular thing.

OS forum rave about 'a girl called jack' ( jack Monroe) who did achieve it, her USp is making very inexpensive meals.

It may be very very hard to stand out from the crowd, and PN has demonstrated that there's not a lot of money in it unless you do. Do it as a hobby, though, and if it goes well, then give up the day job?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
