Bit windy today....“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

At JFK the Virgin terminal is beautiful with lovely shops and eateries, whereas terminal 6, the BA one, is like a shed with insufficient seating, rubbish shops and rubbish food outlets. It's without a doubt the worst airport terminal I've been to in many a year and really reflects badly on NY as a premium business destination. Hopefully it will be demolished at some point and replaced as it has no redeeming features.
BA at JFK is terminal 7, so maybe they did knock terminal 6 down?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Grrr. Rotastak have not replied to my email so I've just tried ringing their customer services phone line but it just goes to an answerphone.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Had xray, will find out later if I am to experience the joys of flying 12 hours with pneumonia tomorrow. Insurance are suggesting they will only cover for me to extend my trip and the others will have to travel anyway should I be unfitI think....0

Hope you can come home. I know the journey will be a nightmare, but then at least you will be here, and can deal with whatever happens next from home.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? I'd want to come home too. ( though medecL care/access where you are might be arguably better your insurance limitations and lack of home comforts will be a balancer) Realistically if choice is Dw and others coming home alone then you not 'doing much' like pushing baggage etc is no extra issue.
Are you parked at the airport? Or will you need transport?
How do YOU feel?0 -
Currently hypothetical but not sure if I can ignore doctors advice and travel anyway without contravening airline rules and probably invalidating travel insurance. Think I am feeling a little better today but last night was pretty bad so it may just be daily fluctuations. I definitely wouldn't want to travel on a flight sitting next to me if that makes sense.....I think....0

Yay!
Tried ringing them again and got through. I think the customer services person must have got back from her lunch break! They're sending me out a replacement clip without charge.
Well done Rotastak! :TDo you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)

Yes, certainly makes sense.
What I will say is take very good care. Previous issues in youth ( just from not stopping when I should have done) and now I have these lung problems with heLth problems, which wouldn't be a problem if I hadn't got ill, as was able to be fully athletic with them. But as you have allergies and stuff......I'd be taking cRe of those lungs.. My mother definitely flew from nz with pneumonia though, but that was decades ago and ...I'm cut from that cloth, so she was very stubborn about not giving in to body whims back then

Crikey, I've been given the task of arranging the Limo for eldest daughter's Prom in July. Her and 10 mates!
I hate all these Americanism's !! In my day, mum or dad just dropped me off at the school disco!!!
Anyway, what a minefield booking a limo is! Especially when you have the responsibility of 10 other kids and their parents on your shoulders!!
Now, I am always very thorough when buying most things, and totally understand that 'best price' does not necessarily mean 'best deal' - but if anyone has any advice I will happily take it on board.
First Limo I have ever booked, so far I have learned that they must have a COIF certificate and we need a big jobby vehicle because most standard limo's only licenced to carry 8 passengers.
What a minefield!!!Please take the time to have a look around my Daughter's website www.daisypalmertrust.co.uk
