Maths GCSE resit results today...and youngest got his C! So chuffed for him and with him as on the day of the second paper, he was barely able to stand upright due to illness and was completely overstressed and anxious. He thought he had completely blown it although he had a feeling he had done well on the first paper.

:T:T:T Very well done to him! That's brilliant, especially as he was ill!

ETA Just been reading your posts, Gen. Hope you're on your way home by this time.

Amazon do the CrockPot for £14 including delivery *to a local drop-off point*. So, no worries about gate/bell not working. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/css/account/address/view.html?&viewID=searchStores

I've no idea whether that's a good buy or not for £14?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I try to keep an eye on the French newspapers and this has been a fear for a while now: battle hardened, trained killers coming back to France and doing this. Who knows what the next part of the plan is?

So they're heading north. Brussels to attack a school EU workers send their kids to or maybe have a go at that newspaper in Denmark. Nobody knows or at least they ain't telling.

My day got worse. I was refused entry to the plane first time of asking. My visa isn't attached to my passport in some way which makes it impossible to find for the checkin staff. I hate

My day got worse again. I got refused entry to the plane first time of asking as my visa isn't electronically attached to my passport in the correct manner. I blame the idiots
You could just get on a plane once upon a time. Yes you'd occasionally end up in Tehran or Karachi but the odds were reasonably low.

Are you travelling on a UK passport?

Yes hence the requirement for a visa to Aus. I'm getting an Aussie passport soonest.

:( So now what happens? Is this a visa problem for all the family, or just you?
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)
