PasturesNew wrote: »I am rubbish. when my phone is nearly full it makes up letters. e.g. I press ABC 3x to get to C and I see C on the screen, then a split second later it changes it to a 1. Annoying when that happens and I have to go through and delete some before I can continue.
To text to somebody: Hi, be there in 10 mins, I have to poke and think out how many times I am poking each letter, I say it to myself:
HH, III, ____ (four presses for a space). BB, EE, ____, T,HH,EE,RRR,EE,____,III,NN,____1111,0000,____,M,III,NN,SSSS
Takes me ages.
I have predictive text switched on. So, to get HI, I just type HI (and sometimes a couple of extra keystrokes for disambiguation). The trouble is that the dictionary does not have xxx in it, but it does know about www, so it just allows www.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

You can add entries normally.
I can do that on DW's phone, but not AFAIK on mine. It did cost £5, less £7.50 cashback, so it was a deal worthy of Michaels. The trouble is that it is an absolutely carp phone, although probably the best you can get for minus £2.50.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Michaels would have bought 1,000 of them and put the wife/kids on a production line flogging them at a local market and on ebay.

Yesterday was a simply lovely day. LIR and FIR are wonderful, seemingly-relaxed hosts, who went to enormous trouble to accommodate their guests' foibles food-wise. It was great seeing them and Lydia again.
Lydia's children are amazing. So interesting and well behaved!
LIR has a dog with the same hairstyle as Rod Stewart, but easy to tell apart, as the dog sings much better. Dog Dog is much bigger than I expected. I forgot that I needed to ignore Kiwi, but did in fact ignore him, which had the desired effect of him wanting to be stroked by me.
The house is so warm and friendly. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

So to get to H, I have to press GHI twice, at the right/fast speed... else I'd get GG if I hesitated
Which is why HI is: HH, wait, III
The idea of predictive text is that there are a limited combination of real words that result from pressing the GHI key twice followed by the space key. These are stored in a dictionary, and the most likely one is offered automatically.
On most phones, you can turn predictive text on or off.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Have spent the day rushing around like a headless chicken today, all child related. Now sitting relaxing for a short while with a cup of tea before the rushing carries on.....We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Just sat down on a working lunch, and need to get back into the studio for editing this afternoon.
I like working to deadlines, but not ones this tight.
And then I complain when I put on weight.......💙💛 💔0
