Nikkster - Lovely and snug in the house now. For the first time in years, I have fully working, very lovely heating. It was certainly worth all the upheaval, dust, cold and mess to get it this way.

I scared myself silly earlier on today, I was eating a Crunchie, breathed in at the wrong moment (had just taken a bite) and a largish chunk got stuck in my throat. I couldn't breath, talk, swallow or anything...Josh managed to dislodge it with a fair few hearty whacks on my back.

Most frightening experience of my life which in reality only lasted about a minute but which felt like an eternity.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

    I binned our toaster.

I cannot remember why, but I'm glad its gone, It made a hideous mess and caused a disproportionate amount of ill feeling.

If anyone gets a replacement I shall probably rehome that.
I wasn't planning on being uncivilised in front of anyone else's toaster so maybe binning yours was a bit extreme....

I found the toaster uncivilised full stop. The only thing I miss a proper range for is toast.

OMG I thought I was hungry earlier. It's gone 6pm and all I've eaten is a small bunch of grapes.

One thing you can say for this diet, it's cheap. I've spent 90c on food so far today.

Wasn't there a version where the fasting periods were only 16 hours?
    I think....

Lydia, I'm happy to post dd's hat back to you:)......but is there a way to turn it off to do so?

I have put it in a cupboard so the cats stop stalking it.

Thank you! Taking the batteries out should shut it up if you can't find an off switch anywhere.
Am loving the idea of the cats stalking it. :D

Excellent news. You deserve to be warm and comfortable.

I can also report to the NP that chez rates is likewise warm, which makes it feel completely different - a proper home that happens to be having a few things done rather than a wreck in which they were practically camping. Somehow the warmth makes the various unfinishednesses much less noticeable until they seem entirely unimportant. (Although I think that effect comes from the combination of the emotional warmth of the welcome as well as the physical temperature.)

How terrifying. I am so glad Josh knew what to do. Well done him. :T

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Maybe. I have 2 days of fasting: Monday and Wednesday or Thursday. I eat 600 calories (2500KJ) on those days. I effectively fast for 35 hours through as today, for example, will be 8pm on Sunday to 7am on Tuesday.

Tonight I've got some chicken, a massive plate of salad and 150g of spuds. It's a massive dinner but I've paid for it by not eating for the rest of the day. I'll have calories left for some supper too. 5-600KJ.

So pleased that some of the NP had a nice evening together and lovely to hear that rates house is coming together.
