Doesn't everyone eat it immediately, standing up in front of the toaster?
I do sometimes - and want to always ... but then I feel that's "wrong" and I should be more civilised :)

I don't feel the need to be civilised in front of my own toaster.

    What hjd said.
PN, you can do what you like with your own toast. There's no "should" about it. :)

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

More storms overnight and this morning. It's going to be 32C today. After the storm it will be horrible, humid and yuck.

8 more days of work before I go to the UK. :j

Supposedly we're having 'ice storms'. ( I've not seen weather reprt just seen glimpse of headline somewhere...tv? Net? Not sure, bit tired this evening). Not sure weather ice storm is different to 'winter' in a meaning ful way, other than, some heavily cold weather after a bloody mild autumn.

Someone rang me earlier to try and talk about weather and travel arrangements to uk and I just said to call me back tomorrow.

Do I seem like the met office?

    I binned our toaster.

I cannot remember why, but I'm glad its gone, It made a hideous mess and caused a disproportionate amount of ill feeling.

If anyone gets a replacement I shall probably rehome that.

I like cold toast too, because I don't like melted butter on toast. I can often be observed in the work canteen of a morning flapping bits of toast around to make them cool down quicker.

This reminded me, I introduced my lodger to the 'trying to get the nail polish to dry quicker' hand flap on Friday. Didn't leave the office as early as I planned, which resulted in a rather more hurried set of party preparations than I had anticipated. I painted my nails 5 mins before leaving the house, and also entered the party with still damp hair. Ah well, I'd made a token effort at dressing up :)

Many years ago, I read that you should plunge your nails into cold/freezing water for a fast dry.

I've heard that too - I should have nestled my nails into my cold, wet hair! Was pretty chilly outside waiting for the taxi too.

Speaking of cold, hope Sue and the boys are nice and warm now.

    .

One of my workmates had a cup that played a jingle when you picked it up. Its only redeeming feature was picturing the look of horror on the faces of future archaeologists trying to imagine a primitive world before we perfected silent crockery.
