RP and I having risotto this week, I, er...... Over catered!
Lady GDB is delightful - warm and friendly and easy to talk to for both adults and children/teenagers.
ETA GDB, lir and fir are all as lovely as ever, but I've met them before and already know how nice they are, so didn't feel that was as worthy of reporting to the NPT as Lady GDB. Hope that makes sense.lostinrates wrote: »It's beet root risotto........wanna come over tonight with mrs chewy? I'm sure its v healthy for gert and Ermie. Only it wll take you ages to get here and I'm sleepy now:(
( there is also lo pecan pie, spice cake, and dips for crutide.....)
Lir's beetroot risotto is yum, although particularly filling after the magnificent array of crudites that she did today. The spice cake and pecan pie are awesome too.:j
I bet Lady GDB is every bit as wonderful as she always sounds in GDB's posts.
Is Doglet as sweet as she looks in pics? How are her paws?
Doglet is lovely. She's like a Jack Russell apart from the feet, which are bigger and stick out sideways like those of a Bassett hound. She likes being stroked, and snuggles up to the stroker in a gratifying way. Once she gets possession of somebody's lap she growls at any other dog who approaches, to make sure the other dog knows she's staked her claim to that particular lap territory.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

. Doglet is BRILLIANT....
Kiwi is also delightful, although less demanding of cuddles than Doglet. Perhaps he is still feeling that he's da man after the fox incident.Sounds like a lovely time was had by all at Casa Rates
Indeed it was.

Definitely. In my current state of mental health, any solution has to take no effort, either at the time, or in advance, or I'll simply end up not doing it. It also needs to be non-messy enough to be eaten in a series of bites taken at different red traffic lights along the journey, and keep for ages so that I don't have to be organised about it. Otherwise skipping breakfast and eating at break half way through the morning will happen by default.
I'm sure many NP will be horrified, but I quite like cold toast
Make sure the butter/ marg is spread whilst the toast is hot, then it can either go cold on it's own or go straight into the fridge. Can't really be done in huge batches, but could be done the night before. My mum will often cook up a number of small omlettes (well, beaten eggs) and make egg sandwiches that way.0 -

Doesn't everyone eat it immediately, standing up in front of the toaster?
Oh, just me then.
Mustn't forget the marmite!0 -

Oh, my favourite recipe! Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

If he decides to give it a try I'll try and remember to report back! Though not sure it will work with a straight swap almonds for shredded coconut - different texture. I'll think about it.
I'd replace with more oats I think.0 -
More storms overnight and this morning. It's going to be 32C today. After the storm it will be horrible, humid and yuck.
8 more days of work before I go to the UK. :j0 -
I like cold toast too, because I don't like melted butter on toast. I can often be observed in the work canteen of a morning flapping bits of toast around to make them cool down quicker.0
