Herts NPs and NPs with Herts Library cards, AIUI Herts Libraries has updated its online magazine lists on Zinio and has added a bunch of new titles, including The Economist and lots of BBC titles. It also has New Scientist. This means you can read them for free on a tablet with a library card.

I know michaels likes the e-Library but thought I'd mention in case anyone else can benefit.

Zinio is one of the options on the website. They have Overdrive for e-books and Zinio for magazines. Two separate apps, so need to download and register each of them if you want to do both.

I don't know if they do similar in other counties.

New Year's resolution is to get to grips with Herts e-services. At the moment it is too easy to just download to the kindle.
It's not how much it starts at ... it's what it costs .... it's still a bit more than I'd choose to pay .... and I don't know if it's actually any good, iyswim. I hate these "rush or miss it" things, they don't sit well with my special qualities. And it's another £85 for a headboard.

I agree. I went into a John Lewis and tried the beds in store and then chose from the online offerings. Having researched headboards, the cheapest place is Argos. Most bed shops hope you will buy a headboard from them as a convenient add-on and charge you a fortune just because they will deliver for free at the same time.

    Love the video, Michaels.

    Seconded.

We've had end of year concerts. No more Frozen, Adele or Katy Perry for a while please.

I was due to finish work on 23rd Jan but have now been told not to bother going in after Xmas (I get paid til the 23rd still). I've been thinking I might see if I can get a 6 month contract in London.

If you want the candles shorter, there's maybe more than one way, perhaps?

Sure, but its nice busying away in there by candle light, ( which is much lighter than photo suggests) and not often I spend that much time in the study ATM, so, good opportunity to do it this way.

I like doing stuff by candle light, and though wouldn't use a ropey candle placed there as a regular lighting option once in a while its ok, if you are alert and really are staying in the room with attention on it not lost in a book or something consuming.

WE still have school xmas plays, carol concerts and stage school Frozen to go so no break from from endless rehearsals yet....but then even when they are not dong any shows there is normally at least one song on endless 'repeat'
    I think....

Good for your friends / family over here. ( I include us in this)

Are your skills in demand in any of the low/ no tax places? Presumably with mrs gen in her job this might mean time apart? ( concerned friend mode) Losing less tax might sweeten this prospect? ( tight and practical friend mode)

My mate got a job in China and had to live in HK for a while. It's an astonishing place, like a more exotic Manhattan but with a feeling of utter safety.

Another mate lives in Kazakhstan. Also astonishing but in a different way. Also it has Martian temperatures in the winter. Not the kind of place you'd need to lock the prisons.
