Ha, finally caught up. .
> Viva your job sounds really interesting.....I can see why you enjoy it even though the pay isn't huge (I think you said that).
> forgot to ask Dooz about her OH's new presenting career opportunity....in that he was offered it but couldn't do it due to current work commitments. Could he be the NBT in DIY telly progs? Could be really lucrative if he could fit it around the business.
> PN; do go and register with a GP anyway. I would push forward and ask about some help with your phobia as it is now affecting how you want to live your day to day life. It's not the sign of a 'Loon' at all...though I know you use that phrase tongue in cheek.
The Thumb is Bad....2nd dressing yesterday and I had a proper look for the 1st time......omg.....the nail sits up and there is nothing behind it, no fleshy thumb pad just light.
Now they say 2 months to heal  I have to go to my surgery every week to have a new sterile, breathable dressing put on it that mustn't get wet. Solved this with a rubber glove and elastic band for showers but means I can't go swimming for ages..I can't cope with that as I need it to run off any stress.
Oh is going to rig up something with a freezer bag and gaffer tape so I can go when we get back from the clothes show...the prep of which is the reason I have been AWOL as it's never-ending getting the stand ready.
Then we pack it into a giant van next Thursday and work the hardest (physically) several days of the entire year.
I have to make myself a thumb glove as the bandage gets filthy and it will gross out customers. Going to get a glove and cut off all the fingers I think.... in black... so the dirt doesn't show.
Bluddy hurts too
Pleased with myself today as I went into the studio to make a huge photo montage on Photoshop to have made into a 750 piece wooden jigsaw for my mother. Atmospheric photos and FB style selfies and casual snapshots catching the moment were the theme. Took 7 solid hours ......I never sit in front of a screen for that long non stop. I added only 30 mins total for wee and tea breaks.
I then loaded it on to the site and got a bonus 20% off that I wasn't expecting as they had a BF deal on.
I had to do it today as it is the only spare stretch I will have now until Xmas.
My cousin from Canada is visiting from 9th to 16th and let me know the other day and he will stay with us............going to be fun but I will lose a weeks work/Xmas doing ....so trying to get as much done now so I can enjoy the week with him.lostinrates wrote: »I am just thinking about kitchen vents now. Its really important to me the extractor is not to low. My mother's have always been at the right height for her and its a pita. I'd rather have one lots higher so others can use the blighter when I'm no longer able to. Pinpointing the height that should be with ought doing kitchen is quite tricky.
We got a Smeg pull out one and I love it. Looks nothing special in the link but it's so neat and 'chic' and the lights come on when you pull it out.

Thanks VVT. Don't know what zinio is though - will I see it via the normal herts log on? Currently I prefer reading the economist in paper than onscreen, graphs etc are easier I think.
Zinio is one of the options on the website. They have Overdrive for e-books and Zinio for magazines. Two separate apps, so need to download and register each of them if you want to do both.

I don't know if they do similar in other counties. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I really like it when people put lights in outdoor trees at this time of year.
.
OH had outside sockets fitted specifically for Xmas light rigging up......well, and for the mower too.....but mainly for outside lights as he has always wanted to do more.
We used to have the lead go out the window and the frame was so soft and rotten it shut easily on the lead
He's already getting excited but we don't do any decs until he gets back from the clothes show on the 11th.
He unloads the giant van and does an Xmas tree run for my Dad, his mother, us and anyone else who wants a large real tree that doesn't fit in the car.0 -

It also has New Scientist. This means you can read them for free on a tablet with a library card.
I know michaels likes the e-Library but thought I'd mention in case anyone else can benefit.
Economist for free!? I want this job even more now

AIUI you can still get a Herts card without living in Herts. So next time you are around for an interview, pop into a library before heading back and get a card. Just take your driving licence as ID. Though of course it would be good for you to live down here too!
Zinio is available through different library authorities, so its worth checking what local libraries have, even if you don't live around these parts. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I hate these "rush or miss it" things, they don't sit well with my special qualities. And it's another £85 for a headboard.
No worries, I posted it because a lot of NPs are furnishing houses atm and because silver had mentioned that they are a good brand. Does seem a good buy for people willing/able to take the risk. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? We have a small tree we planted in the front garden but it it too far from the window/garage door for the light wire to stretch, they are about 5m to the first light but we need at last 8m - is it possible to get an extension lead with a waterproof plug on the end?I think....0
