Mauve squeaker is lovely, lir. Are your cats Siamese or Burmese(or something else!)? I used to have a Siamese years ago. Kiwi looks adorable too
I was surprised last week to see someone with a pair of "kiwis" at the local shops. Never seen them before or since! Perhaps they were just visiting the area.
DS's "lightning deals" mattress arrived this morning. It looks considerably deeper than his current one, so I hope his sheets will fit! He was working last night, and again tonight, so the mattress won't be changed until tomorrow afternoon. In the meantime it's taking up most of the hall.....
PN What a shame your outing was disappointing
Lovely that your tree's up though :T 0 -
Ivy leaf, the cats are Siamese, but mauve squeaker has very poor colour differentiation between her points and main body colour. She's also a poor example in many other ways ( certainly not show or breeding quality, but cute, loving and wonderful none the less)
We've been starting Christmas putting out of stuff ( not tree, just firs ruddy bells, window decorations ( I like to do them for the school bus before term breaks up so aim to do them for first of December. ). I wonder if any of the kids actually notice though?

Thank was lovely michaels, thanks for sharing. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Very pretty!
Not sure what I'll end up doing re decs this year. Not feeling very Christmassy (someone called me The Grinch yesterday
). I did buy some decorations in the Jan sales. Returned my parents' ancient fake tree mid-year.
Would be nice to decorate the place - esp as there will be someone in the house the whole time, and I'm not sure they've lived in a house that's decorated for Christmas before. Will have to see what I feel like next weekend as to whether I go tree shopping I guess.
Ooh and I have a wicker wreath I was going to decorate with holly from the garden. Hmmm...0 -
Herts NPs and NPs with Herts Library cards, AIUI Herts Libraries has updated its online magazine lists on Zinio and has added a bunch of new titles, including The Economist and lots of BBC titles. It also has New Scientist. This means you can read them for free on a tablet with a library card.
I know michaels likes the e-Library but thought I'd mention in case anyone else can benefit. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Table covered in Xmas wrapping, tree assembled, lights strung round, baubles attached, other danglies attached... I did have some glass icicles, which I'd packed/kept since pre-2006 .... and the LED tree topper's on, batteries inserted. And I've some mini crackers popped here and there ....and some tinsel dropped round the base to cover up the plastic legs.
I've also got three LED miniatures - little rubber-based LED creatures that stand about 4-5" high. There's a Santa, snowman and a penguin. This sort of thing: https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQXj-kjXWWnfml6OraOoukbXstBkQR25JM_kOYV4nlELye4PNe6 They're all standing together - and I've another 6" tinsel snowman with them.
If I am going to see Santa then I need to leave in the next couple of hours.... might go, might not. See how it goes.
Something MAJOR wrong with the tree...... it's got no dangling chocolates.
I need to find some Xmas tree chocolates to go on it .....
Early starter! I love fairy lights.
It was family tradition to cover the tree in candy canes.
Until we got a dog. Now we have to hide the advent calendars. I've bought advent candles for the children this year.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Thanks VVT. Don't know what zinio is though - will I see it via the normal herts log on? Currently I prefer reading the economist in paper than onscreen, graphs etc are easier I think.I think....0
