I'd like a working kelpie. Would he get upset if I did not have anything for him to herd, though?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I must have the nicest team in the world.

They wouldn't do it if you weren't worth it :D
That means fir taking trailer test. Which is a: no mean guaranteed pass, ( nor the opposite, so far he hasn't towed.....) and also, when would he do it....?

Do you have to take the trailer test if you passed your driving test before a certain date? I think I have those categories on my licence because of the date I passed.

(Not saying it's not a good idea to do the training, simply whether the law requires the test).

Have been out this evening at a street party for the local winter lights switch on. The street is shut to traffic, there were some stalls and different foods (I had slow roasted pork in cider on a brioche bun), and the lights are fab and twinkly. Community funded (sponsor a bulb for £10). A local radio station did the music in between live bands / local brass band / church choir etc. 3 beers developed by a local brewery just for the night, proceeds to Macmillan.

I love my local community; you always see someone you know

Nope, loads of people keep kelpies as pets. They make good pets apparently.

Yes, but I've no clubcard vouchers. It's taken me about 2 years to get about £1.50 in tesco vouchers. Link says it's expired.

Not surprised, even at 200 for a 3 seat leather sofa it was pretty cheap.

The sofabed is still available but nly in chocolate so much less beachy...but Niks might want to go halves with you...
    I think....

I know if you both passed AND towed before you are ok. Not sure about just passed. I do know this but I cannot 'reach' that information right now in my brain. It should be easily googleable. Sorry, its annoying when I should be able to just tell you :(

    Fir did neither.

Why would I want half a sofa?

Ahhh... Nah, no need. I travel with my own sleeping bag and roll mat. And after a hard day's [STRIKE]cleaning and gardening[/STRIKE] next time it's eating ice creams and drinking beer, I have even less trouble kipping on the floor :)

    Fir did neither.

If you passed before The Date, but didn't tow - how would anyone know? So I'd guess at just passing being the answer.

    Edit:
I'm guessing licence was issued before 2013?

    from https://www.gov.uk/towing-with-car
Licences held from 1 January 1997
If you passed your driving test after 1 January 1997 and have an ordinary category B (car) licence, you can:

drive a vehicle up to 3.5 tonnes or 3,500kg MAM towing a trailer of up to 750kg MAM
tow a trailer over 750kg MAM as long as the combined weight of the trailer and towing vehicle is no more than 3,500kg
For anything heavier you need to take a category B+E driving test.

Licences held before 1 January 1997
If you passed your car test before 1 January 1997 you are generally entitled to drive a vehicle and trailer combination up to 8.25 tonnes MAM.

This is the weight of a vehicle or trailer including the maximum load that can be carried safely when it’s being used on the road.

You also have entitlement to drive a minibus with a trailer over 750kg MAM.

Ah yes, the Toyota Ute. What a fantastic vehicle. There is a dual cab version but it is traditional to put the dogs in the tray. You'd have to get a Kelpie.

Utility truck fine out here. Pants to ark in Town though.

Yes GDB, you have got the situation exactly right, we want a car to be two / three roles.

RP also suggested this evening that we consider car pooling, with us using that car when needed and just getting a smaller ( London friendly) car that RP can use more easily in London and fixing the defender or buying another one. This is very generous as RP's car is ( though I dislike it) by far the nicest. I know RP isn't keen for fir to drive it:o.

This would restrict our choice of small car a bit though. And have to see if big dog can still get in that car.

    My poppy arrived today!

Beautifully presented in box with booklet of poppy pictures and authenticity certificate but, stalk was covered in rust - I know they were from the display, but you would think they would have made them from non rusting metal. Also there is still mud splashes on the underneath of the poppy. All adds to the authenticity I guess.

Assembly instructions as if from Ikea. 4 different washer to be added to stalk and I can't fit the one that is meant to go through the poppy through the stalk.

Reminds me of my grandmother having a driving licence, even though she never drove. My mother used to practice with grandmother in the car and one day got stuck somewhere needing to reverse out, but hadn't yet been taught how to reverse. She had to knock on the door of a random house and ask for help. (all before I was born.)
