    Well remembered.

I need to find a vase suitable. I was thinking of glass to show the stalk, but rust doesn't match the colour scheme.:p

Dark grey would go with both the cloakroom and the poppy, as would a metal like pewter.

You could get some red or green or white crepe paper (as it's nearly Xmas it'll be everywhere) - then cut a long strip of it and wrap it tightly round the stem, fixing it with a tiny dab of glue - that way it'd look nice and give you the option of doing anything else you chose in the future.

They are long. That's what swb defender is so ace for, its wide but its quite short, you can squeeze it in small spaces ( you might have to climb over seats and exit through back door or something....but you can get in a normal space) unlike many four by fours. Its made for work / life not family /suburbs so it knows you might need to squeeze in a tiny country village spot or occasionally in cities. Others park in cities, but huge spaces or double parked.

I resent not having the stamina to drive one about any more as main car I suppose, but also think its not good for fuel ( financially / environmentally). I used to commute over 100 miles each way daily in a LR older than me, now getting to nearest city would leave me feeling rattled apart:o:rotfl:

I've been in a defender a few times, and I certainly would not want to drive a long distance in one on the motorway. I can see why you might be looking at two cars. Does the fwd have to be roadworthy? Could you fix something up just to drive around the fields at low speeds, without going onto public roads?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Ottoman, with gas lifts, at £139.

    Should I, shouldn't I, is it rubbish...?
    Who knows.

Well, the reviews on Argos mostly say it is rubbish. Even the one good review says that they had to reinforce it with mdf. One reviewer got so carried away that he rhymed:

'Metal frame and slat creak and squeak and are very weak. '

The only cheap bed I've found that was actually any good was a futon on a simple wooden frame.

    Cheap and comfy.

Yes has to be road worthy, but not luxurious. ( I just don't feel like a range rover kinda gal.)

If we go two car option it makes sense to have a 'clean car' mainly for people and tried to kept a mud free zone, where rugs are put in for dogs. In our car we put rugs/ throws in for people...to help keep them clean!

Despite no central heating, we were quite comfortable last night. Me and the boys sat and watched Hunger Games 2 and at no time did I complain about the cold.

The cat however made a big show of cuddling up to the oil filled radiator and throwing me accusing looks. His fault, I did offer to let him cuddle into the quilt I had over me on the sofa but he didn't want to.

It was also parents evening, absolutely hopeless organisation as we all arrived and we had no idea where to go (first parent evening after the move for 6th formers), there was no plan on which teacher was in which rooms, so there were loads of students and parents wandering around lost and being late for appointments. Josh is doing ok though after a bit of a difficult time and is now predicted A's and B's.

Chamber concert on Wednesday, again organisation was a little lacking so not many tickets sold but there was some quite good music. Josh performed in two of the songs, the second link I messed up the recording so you will either need to tilt your head or just close your eyes and listen.

We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

It's going to be the first 40C day of our nascent summer today. Hot, hot, hot. A good day to be in an air conditioned office.

DD is sailing in the Whitsundays, soI hope it is also a good day to be on a boat.
