Debate House Prices
In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non MoneySaving matters are no longer permitted. Great publicity for a company I had never heard off before. Anyone looking for a new kitchen?

It seems that you get the abuse up front.0 -

Any publicity is good publicity....unless you are a dodgy kitchen company.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. MSE asking posters to click spam button....“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Dangerously on topic.
I must have had my head in the sand. Sunday Times Home section talks about house prices being "back up to" 2006-7 levels in most areas now. In my little corner of the world prices are near double that level.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I don't think michaels is necessarily disagreeing with that. We probably all agree that the friend has been both wrong and stupid. I think michaels is addressing the question of to what extent mas should allow this incident to change his view of his friend. And without knowing more facts, we're not in a position to say whether the friend is a thoughtless and irresponsible idiot behaving in a foreign country as all his friends already know he behaves at home, or a deceitful and dangerous pervert that nobody in their right mind would want to touch with a bargepole ever again.Doozergirl wrote: »I din't suppose there are many Sun readers on this theead, but my house was on Sarah Beeny's property page yesterday. Round my way, Harpenden, they certainly are 60-80% above the low point of early 2009. Bigger houses seem to have risen more than smaller ones.
As for my flats in London - they certainly are close to double their low price point five years ago!

I remember Nenen from years ago. Lovely poster. The thread the angry refers to comes up first in google when putting in an infamous kitchen person's name and one of the brands associated. It hasn't made me think any better of them.

https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5068412The massages are different on the bits of spam I've seen. Is someone really doing this by hand? What a waste of effort if they are. Pretty funny in the way that comedy graffiti is: you shouldn't really laugh because they are messing up the place but sometimes you do anyway.
I initially reported several messages before realising the scale of it
There were 120-ish posts just on the mortgages forum. Having clicked the lot, I'm not minded to carry on for the other boards :A
It was quite entertaining to see how spelling improved where wrong, and words were varied to get round the spam filter, over time:D0 -
Perhaps they have set the forum software so that a single spam report will delete a thread and lock out a user...one to try?
Regardless if I was running a site like this where I don't want to pay for moderators, I'd set a threshold so if so many people (5 or 10) clicked the Spam button then the post is automatically deleted and the poster suspended.0
