Mum says his incredible astute mental facilities seem to be slowing a bit, but that may be completely unrelated.

We've noticed that with FIL who is 76. It is worrying when the old start acting old. I have a theory that those in the 65-75 bracket are the first group that made a real effort to act and look young. Older generations really did act their age. So now these young uns are starting to show their age it is a shock to them and us.

Blimey, that's hard at the best of times. I can't do that (need to lean on something for balance even for putting, ahem, undergarments on) :o:)
    :p

It is hard, but these are slip on ankle boots so could be harder, but I'm still impressed. :) I'd just been doing an exercise where I'd been balancing on one leg and she moved to balance me and I said ' no I think I have got this'. We both grinned.:D.

Otoh, I just got in the post a letter from GP saying my kidney and liver blood tests are such I need to arrange to have them redone and to call and make an appointment. Still, I feel better.

And, I put my boots on from standing up with out leaning on anything when I left. :D.

    She's good.

I can't do that - put on my boots, that is, not yours - without leaning against something.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I went to hospital today for a routine appointment. It was good and bad. Some really bad.

Bad: It turns out that I'm going to the Leukaemia Clinic!

    Good: I don't think I have Leukaemia.

Good: My Haemoglobin has gone up again. It was down.

Bad: It goes up and down, and if it goes down again they want to take a bone marrow sample. An absolutely horrid test.

Very, very bad: Whilst I was in the waiting room, one of the other patients collapsed with a heart attack. The crash team took far too long to arrive, 5 minutes I reckon, and they could not revive him. It might have made no difference if they had got there sooner, but it is concerning. All this was going on 3 metres away.

Some times when getting dressed I have problems lifting my legs, but its very rare now. Slightly more often I have trouble lifting one of them enough so I go 'tap foot, tap foot, tap foot', and then push leg up with the momentum from under ball of foot. Similarly, though its not great for back pain often I have to follow momentum of throwing legs away to stand up from bed. As long as I get up / get dressed when I need to I'm good with my methods.

What other things have they suggested it could be?

A bone barrow sample IS a horrid test, my sympathy.

You want in on the candle nights, huh? ;) you got it.

Its very sad about the other patient. :(. You hope if you are there its the best place.
