As I am now back in work, there is no pressure on Mrs P to get a job. She does volunteer for a charity shop, but they are closing in June when the lease on the shop expires.
She is going to look for another charity shop to volunteer at.Never Knowingly Understood.

Little transfer of loose change from account done bringing my EF up to £141.31. Will only be little top ups for the rest of the month I think now. So if i had £12.35 free in my account, I would transfer the £2.35 over to top up my EF in case anyone wondered what I ment by "loose change" lol.
It must be lovely Patman knowing it has taken the strain from your wife a little bit. Well done.

Going to set about doing my WTC appliccation tonight. One good thing about being a perm employee, if I get the boot after 3 months, my MPI will pay my mortgage.
Just getting used to being paid on a Tuesday instead of a Thursday.Never Knowingly Understood.

It's not forever SVC you have to remember that!

Sorry to hear your news, CountingPennies. Cars seem to the biggest cause of people's money woes on this thread.
At least you had money in your EF to cover it, and that's what it's there for after all, emergencies. Please don't get discouraged, you'll build it up again:beer:0 -
Did a car boot sale on Bank Holiday Monday, the first outdoor one of the year. Was cold and misty so early in the day/year but I did better than I expected, seeing as I'm only selling tat:o. Made £137.20 after pitch fees. Not counting any petrol costs as it was only 5 miles away (and living out in the sticks where we do that's nothing travel-wise).
Have scraped together a few oddments to round it up to £150 and that's now safely in my EF:j. Total now £540. I would never have thought this possible, given the lousy and expensive few months I've had with unavoidable expenses. Thanks again, patman:beer:.
Just waiting now for the next major car problem to arrive and deplete it again:(0 -
First cheque from HMRC received today. Will bank tomorrow on way home from work.
Will be using some of it to treat me and the spouse to a nice meal.Never Knowingly Understood.
