Finally got around to this and co insided with insurance renewal month and moving life insurance has gotten me 210 through quidco to get me on my way
  • Checked my bank account online this morning to see the payment for a small directory delivering job that I didn't finish until 24th March is already in there. It normally takes just over 3 weeks to arrive so I'm very impressed:j

That's £123.68 to add to my EF. Have rounded it up to £125 (I like tidy amounts:rotfl:) which I've just transferred to my EF Savings Account.

Brings my total to £665 but I expect it will be a while before I'll be adding any more:(

Good Luck, everyone. Keep at it:beer:

Welcome Jon81, you are EF member #98.

Banked HMRC cheque today, however Halstead no longer has a branch of NatWest, so had to put it in my Barclays account. Must remember to transfer it across as soon as it has cleared just in case Barclays decide to use it to pay down the 2 cc debts I have with them.

I bet it feels good, patman, to bank a cheque:T

I have the same problem depositing cheques(which I hardly ever get) into my Nationwide account which I opened when I was setting up my DMP. It's an internet-based account and I never need a branch as I can use debit cards and anybody's ATM machine. My nearest branch is 15 miles away.

I had a wages cheque recently and thought of paying it into my LLoyds account at my local branch and transferring it over to Nationwide electronically but LLoyds are the bank I owe most to and, like you, I worried they might hang onto the money:eek:. I ended up posting it off to Nationwide. Lloyds are the only ones who haven't frozen the interest on my debt so although big payments are going to them every month from StepChange the debt isn't decreasing much. Have contacted them a few times about it, as has StepChange, but they refuse to budge. They eventually paid me some PPI compensation (before my DMP) after originally turning down my claim and I had to go to the Ombudsman to get it so I suspect they have me on some sort of blacklist:(

Good Luck getting your HMRC transferred asap:beer:

Nothing put in the EF for a while. DS who is only 7 found out my pin number (he is clearly not as daft as he acts) and has had a £100 ish spending spree on amazon from his kindle fire. Oh dear. I have now changed all passwords and pin numbers just in case.

Can I sign up to this,
My goal Is £1,500 for my emergency fund so then i have a little extra if i need it & because I sometimes don't get paid enough in my current account so I have to sometimes use my savings to cover it but I
use the snowball system to try and pay it all back.

My current totals are in my sig below.

Thank you & good luck to everyone.
    NSD 3/25 | SA: £38.00 | EF: 38.13

evie189, I do hope you are going to stop his pocket money until you have recouped all the money he has spent. You could put a 10x10 grid up on the fridge and mark-off 1 square for each £1 he pays back.

This will allow him to actually see his debt being paid-off.

DeafLeopard, you are very much welcome. You are #99.

I know. One big push and we will be there.

Realized that I haven't updated my sig. to take into account the fact that I have withdrawn almost all my EF to pay for the car's MOT last month.

I will keep it as-is though as it acts as a target to get back up to.
Anyway, expensive week this week, car insurance due end of month so did it yesterday. Did remmber to do it through TCB though, so just over £50 to come back.
