Good morning diary
Looks like I'll be back in my overdraft tomorrow, got a couple of big bills coming out.
Just noticed my credit card has crept up a bit again (naughty of me) need to get that below £2k
Need to research into new fridge freezers. The developer wants nearly £700 for an integrated one which has poor reviews online, I'm sure I could get an all singing, all dancing one for that money if I shop around myself!Historic Debt August 2009 = £63,600 10th March 2017 = £0 100% paid all gone!
Mortgage started June 2015 = £170,000 January 2022 = £134,000
Saving for Xmas 2022= . . Amazon £55

Oh, that's alot of money for a f/f. Cor blimey, I don't blame you shopping around, I'm sure there's a bargain out there somewhere with you name on it. Don't forget to use TCB or Qu1dco. :T

DB you've changed your pic, I was wondering where the cat had gone :rotfl:
I definitely won't be forgetting the cashback sites
They wouldn't throw in any extras with the new house (stingy beggars!) but I think I'd prefer a reduction on the house price and this way I'm not limited to just what they put in (although the price for the dishwasher and washing machine are pretty reasonable so we're paying for them)
They also wanted 4 grand for flooring and carpets :eek:Historic Debt August 2009 = £63,600 10th March 2017 = £0 100% paid all gone!

Well not using my overdraft has been well and truly thrown out the window :rotfl:
I've just paid the bic chunk off my credit card that was accruing interest :j
I know I'll end up paying interest on my overdraft insteadbut it makes me feel much better knowing I've hacked a nice big chunk out of my card balance :j

I know! I assume it was from their standard range, so who knows what premium ones would cost
Been to a high street company and they've told us they'll be able to get in and have it all done for us on the day we get our keys for about half that.
We did our entire downstairs (kitchen, lounge, hallway) ourselves in this house for about £400 (vinyl cost £125 and laminate cost about £275).Historic Debt August 2009 = £63,600 10th March 2017 = £0 100% paid all gone!

That sounds a bit better when we moved into this flat it cost us 900 to carpet a three bedroom flat that was including laminating the hallway and getting a wool carpet for the living room xx
Good for you for shopping about hopefully they'll refuse the price of the house for you xxNEXT TARGET: Halifax credit card DEC 22 £0 / £4499.12POAMAYC 2011 £6378.35 POAMAYC 2012 £5000.78POAMAYC 2013 £3480.04 POAMAYC 2014 £4085.14POAMAYC 2015 £7565.24 POAMAYC 2016 £8000.90 POAMAYC 2017 £7278.80 POAMAYC 2018 £13208.18POAMAYC 2019 £13309.28 POAMAYC 2020 £15026.050 -
The price won't get reduced, it's a new build and we've already paid the deposit (we got 10k off the asking price already).
I've been annoyed they wouldn't throw anything extra in, but now I'm beginning to think it's good they didn't as I can get whatever I want by shopping around (plus a cash discount on the house is probably better than cheap freebies)
We should hear back from the broker by tomorrow about our mortgage offer, it's still with the underwriter at the moment
Edit: 55 days until DH gets his bonus :j not sure how much yet but we're using the whole lot to slash one of our credit cards :jHistoric Debt August 2009 = £63,600 10th March 2017 = £0 100% paid all gone!

Apparently DS wants an iPhone for his birthday.
And here was me thinking he was sensible and knew the value of money
I wouldn't be so bad but me and DH both have cheap android phones (mine is a £50 handset that only holds 4 or so apps :rotfl:Historic Debt August 2009 = £63,600 10th March 2017 = £0 100% paid all gone!
