i also applied very early, and dont remember it saying it was a prize draw.....i thought the prize draw was only in reference to the holiday.

I dont feel so bad about filling the form in with dormant email addresses now.

Will wait and see what this "new improved" offer with be on 30th, if its rubbish, will simply unsubscribe as i'm not a drinker anyway

I sent a message to them yesterday asking the about the current situation and the e-mail I received back is the same as everyone here got about something on 30 September.

I'm not going to hold my breath that it's going to be any good. You'd think that such a large company would have ensured that the promotion was completely unambiguous.

I'm amazed I got the congratulations e-mail, saying a pitcher will arrive with 14 days. I don't believe it, I am never lucky. Mind you it hasn't arrived yet !!

It wasn't supposed to be a competition though, it was a freebie. They are making it out to be a competition now.

I'm writing from RPM, the UK marketing agency for Grand Marnier in response to the free pitcher promotion.

We understand that many of you have been unhappy that due to the excess demand for pitchers, you were unsuccesful in receiving one. The application form did state that pitchers were available while stocks last and these have now been exhausted.

The offer was made in good faith and as per the message those of you who have contacted us since have received, we will be developing an offer exclusively for those of you who were unsuccesful. We will send details of this offer out by 30th September to those who have opted into future communications from Grand Marnier (in line with data protection requirements).

We are sorry for any disappointment, and trust that you will understand that all efforts are being made to satisfy your interest in Grand Marnier as quickly and as fully as possible.

you state in your reply that free pitchers were while stocks last.

I think the main gripe that everyone who applied for one and subsequently been told they were unlucky is that once we had supplied the 5 email addresses plus our details, we got the message " thanks, your free pitcher is on its way"

Once the number of free pitchers you had, had been allocated then this message should not have appeared to those applying after that date.

Then the "while stocks last" part is fair enough, but telling everyone theyve secured one and its on its way and then telling them they were unlucky isnt playing fair.

Its only the fact that everyone got the " its on its way" message that people are contacting you as they were expecting them a while ago, which has obviously prompted the huge volume of email to yourselves and the potentially huge PR nightmare this will become for the company especially as Gran Marnia have said they will not use you again.
