I've followed this thread from the beginning, but have decided to come out of lurkdom for the New Year.
I have to admit I'm a stitchaholic. I sew for a living, then evenings and weekends I'm either knitting, crocheting or quilting. Luckily, I have a fully kitted out sewing room and don't have the hassle of getting things out and putting them away again.
My aim for all of my children and grandchildren to have a quilt is never ending. I think I'm getting there then a new pregnancy gets announced! I've also just sold the 8ft square quilt I was making, so it's time to start a new project - a Storm at Sea quilt, but one for my own bed at last!!
I'll post pictures when I work out my passwords for photobucket

This is the quilt I have just sold, based on a Victorian tiled floor.
My favourite place to be - my sewing room!

Have made the unused blocks from Mum's runner into 3 octagonal mats - she might as well have those too! She was delighted with the runner
Now working on a denim rucksack for my cousin's daughter - she asked for it after seeing mine! Then I'll need to make something for her brother and sister :rotfl:
Oh well it keeps me off the streets.
I'm so glad I moved the dining table into the spare room and called it my sewing room - it's great to have such a large worktable and to be able to shut the cats out :rotfl:

Beautiful quilt Stitching Witch.
I have started a table runner for the coffee table in the living room. It's paper piecing which I like because it makes such accurate points but I've not done a huge amount of it and it took me about 4 false starts before I got it right. It's going well now though and because it's a runner I only have 4 blocks to make - it's very time consuming, all that leaping up to trim, oh well it will help with the post Christmas excess.0 -
Sounds like you have been very busy rosyq and snoozer. My machine is not out yet as I've been knitting hats for me and DD. Going to get it out at the weekend as I am off to a sewing day on Monday, we are doing a jelly roll race. If you want to check it out there are videos on the Missouri Star Quilt Company site. Should be fun and it's a quick way to get a simple quilt top done.
Good idea to get yourself a sewing room rosyq my dining room always looks so messy when I have everything out.

My son has at last moved out of home and I can have his bedroom as a craft room. There is a large built in cupboard and wardrobe I can use for storing my stash and a long bench top for the sewing machine. I will need a cutting table and a decent chair so I think I can set it up with very low costs. Can't wait to get started.

grandma1bb that sounds fab, just hope he doesn't re-appear like my DD. Had her bedroom beautifully set up as a sewing room when she moved out but it all fell apart and she was back a few months later. Off to a sewing day tomorrow from 1-10pm, we are doing the jelly roll race. Can't wait as I haven't sewn a thing since before Christmas. De fluffed my machine and about to get my fabric and sewing bits sorted.

I'm very jealous of your jelly roll race day today miffy. I'd love to be quilting today but the paid sewing is top of the agenda today - drafting a corset this afternoon.
The jelly roll race looks like a very quick way to produce a quilt top. I don't have any jelly rolls at the moment, but I could always cut 2.5inch strips from the fabric I do have.
But jelly rolls are so beautifully co-ordinated, and I do have to go into town this morning...Making magic with fabricLight travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.0 -
miffy257 I hope he doesn't return as he's emigrated to Australia.0
