Rosyq that table runner is lovely, gorgeous colours, bet your Mum loved it. My sewing machine is all packed away at the moment and I am getting withdrawal symptoms from not sewing. Had a nice pair of scissors for Christmas so can't wait to use them.
    Happy Quilting all :)

    Afternoon all,

Visited a new (to me) fabric shop yesterday, it was fantastic. Stuck to the single piece of fabric I was after though!

  • If I'm honest, the place was really overwhelming so I stuck to my guns for the first visit.

As I craft more than we have overnight guests I have spent the last little while adapting our spare bedroom into more of a craft room. I do virtually all of my stuff downstairs so I can keep an eye on the mini beasts but it is nice to have the stuff I use most together in that room so I can just grab and go, rather than pretending to myself that I'm going to keep the sideboard tidy and clutter free at all times.

    Hope everyone is well.
  • I actually got at the machine yesterday, making samples for the table I am putting on for the U3A groups session on 15th Jan. Showing different ways of quilting, tube quilting and the 3 dudes way as well as turning 2 squares into a simple block, I need to sort out a few more things but my brian has gone to chocolate mush over the holiday!!

aleceiffel how nice to have a crafting space and well done Deleted_User on getting on with your samples. I put all my quilting stuff away for Christmas but I'm definitely getting withdrawal symptoms. Hope everyone has enjoyed the Christmas break and is looking forward to more quilting in 2015. May your bobbins be ever full and all your stitches straight. Health and Happiness to you all.

Just thought I'd better bump the thread or we might get lost. Hope you are all dreaming of new projects if not actually sewing. I will reinstate my machine in the dining room when I have taken down the decorations.

Good morning and happy new year to everyone.

We nipped into the local fabric shop on Wednesday and I was delighted to find two FQs of my favourite fabric, one was part of an FQ pack so I got 20% off that, the other piece was only £2 so I was very happy, it might be enough to finish my big quilt.

I've been doing a few bits and bobs over the past few days, but only a strip here and there. I have a pile of pressing to do, I might do that today as we have the heating on and I can rest my bum on the radiator!

I hope you all had a happy Christmas. I finally got my machine out again yesterday and stitched a bit. I must take it back to the shop though because the bobbin thread keeps coming unthreaded and affecting the tension, it made quilting sis-in-laws quilt a nightmare. I am trying to decide on my next project - I have Tula Pinks 100 blocks ready to sew together so I might do that although I'm itching to start something completely new.

Hi I am so pleased to see this thread :) I so want to be able to make a quilt. I did make my dear little grandson one and enjoyed making it but there were lots of mistakes in it but my d daughter loves it anyway bless her :) I do like the saying someone said on here about a blind man on a galloping horse would not notice the mistakes :) must use that one :) I made the quilt after looking at u tube so at least the basics are there and will look forward to meeting you all here Margaret :)
