Family lives about 20 minutes drive away - see them once a month or less often.

    Phone every couple of weeks.

    More than enough;)
  • My father's siblings used to live in adjacent streets to each other, whilst my father lived 200 miles away. When he went home to see them they used to ask after each other, having not seen the others since his last visit.

Very strange indeed! Did they not even all get together when he visited?

Not all that familiar with London. How far apart do you live and/or how long would it take you to travel there?

It's about 26 miles. It takes about 1.5 hours by public transport - I don't drive.

We live about 6 miles from our Ds & DD & 4x grandbrats aged between 9 and 20. I see them at least 4 or 5 times a week, this is the driver of granddad's taxi speaking!

My parents came from the Potteries in 1926 to live in a Nottinghamshire pit village. They were about 70 miles from where they grew up, and went over several times a year. I moved to another county almost 15 years ago; I have one older brother left and 8 nephews & nieces. I had not seen any of them for some years, until one of my older nephews (a favourite) developed a rare form of cancer. Now I go there when I can.
I think this job really needs

Life is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.
  • I live about 1 mile from my parents, we speak on the phone most days.

We used to see each other daily, it's reduced since we had our dog put to sleep last month.

During term time it's a couple of times a week, once a week they like to collect my daughter from school and spoil her.

During the school holidays it dependent on hubby work shifts as they look after her whilst I'm at work.

We see hubby's family a lot less they live about an hour away. They don't come to us we have to go to them. After 17 years of this I've had enough so just go whenever there is a family party. Rarely speak on the phone too. Keep in touch via FB mainly.
