After reading through all the threads here we had the KozeeSleep Crystal 3000 delivered last weekend. It really is exceptional quality for the money and DH loves it. I agree that its not a 'sink into' mattress, but very supportive and luxurious. Unfortunately I have to return it purely because I have a hip problem and have woken up in a bit of pain. If I could have given it another couple of weeks it may have been fine, but with only a 7 day returns option I cant risk it.

We have been sleeping on a La Romantica Venice (1500 pocket V60 memory foam) for four years which we had to buy without trying and its still good, however having seen the difference in quality you get with Kozee/Restus I'm sold.

The reason for the change is DH finds the memory layer slightly hot in summer and we now need a king size.

Now starting over again and I was thinking of the Restus Pocket Latex 1000 or something like it but turnable. Spending a bit more isnt a problem and was looking at John Ryan's excellent no quibble guarantee but this would probably blow the budget.

If Pinky is around to give some advice it would be much appreciated.

Hello. I need a mattress for my daughter who is moving into her first big bed. I really don't want to spend more than £150

There are some really well priced ones on that happy beds eBay page, can anyone give me some advice on which look like good ones? I'm finding it a bit baffling, there are so many
  • Having slept on a Harrison 1500 pocket spring for over 15 years the time came to replace. Looked at Harrison again but did not want to spend over £1000 so thanks to PinkyPants found the Restus Crystal 3000 and have had it few days now but as good as the previous Harrison. Only time will tell if it lasts as long but at £299 for the double on ebay its a chance I will take.

I did eventually get to try the Crystal 3000 a while longer and it was too firm for me all round regardless of hip problem. Went for the John Ryan Origins Pocket 1500 and although seems slightly softer had the same problem feeling numb/tossing and turning. Now thinking of going back to memory foam for the extra comfort layer, maybe the KozeeSleep Carina or Max Pocket. Hubby's 6ft/14stone i'm 5ft/11.5stone. Any thoughts appreciated.

Spring count DOES NOT determine how firm a mattress is, it is just the number of springs.

Firmness is achieved by the thickness of the wire that makes up those springs.

I know very little of Siesta beds, but alarm bells are ringing that you couldn't try the Restus beds.

Maybe Siesta isn't online so you can't compare prices and they are simply trying to profit more.

Isn't it the tension of the springs rather than the thickness that determines support?

    Vi spring are the best.

So are Rolex in terms of watches. But they aren't very good value for money if you just want to know the time.

Similar with Vi-spring, very over priced for what they are.

Which make of bed would you recommend as being best value for money?
