  • Bless your heart Pinky :rotfl: I do feel so very grateful.
I should send my payment in for sure as I honestly think that without your advice I would have still struggled on crappy mattresses OR I would have paid through my nose for the JL one.

  • Sorry to drag up an older thread but this seems to be -the- place that the restus crystal has been discussed.

Looking for a new mattress and this crystal sounds pretty decent bang for buck . I have one small query that I hope someone may be able to shed light upon.... the crystal seemingly comes with a 1 year guarantee AND warrenty . Looking at other mattresses I was led to believe a 5 year plus warranty was the norm... certainly 1 year does sound low. Is there a reason why only 1 year? Looking at mattressman the mattresses art this price point and above seem to have 2 or 5 year plus.

Just a niggling question that remains unanswered. Also any recent feedback by others who have purchase d this model would be great! Thanks :)

The warranty is normally down to the manufacturer, as far as I'm aware Restus don't offer a warranty of any kind. The guarantee is with the retailer.

Mattressman may be offering a longer period of cover but are the products the same spec? If Restus did offer a longer time frame then their prices will increase to cover it.

I've been in the trade quite a few years now and most faults if there are going to appear generally occur within the first 6 months of the products life. After that faults are generally caused by the user.

Most makes only offer 1 year to be far.

Also how easy is it to claim under a warranty? Search ikea mattress on this forum and see just how many people have successfully claimed on the 25 year guarantee.

Having said all that, you're still covered under the sales of goods act, which states that products must last a reasonable amount of time. I think you can claim on that for goods up to 6 years, longer in Scotland I believe.

  • thanks for your feedback and advice pinkypants.

I totally believe that the amount of people that have successfully claimed on their warranty is insignificant. However it stands that i am slightly confused why most other mattress manufactures were advertising a 5 year warrant in contrast to to the restus mattress which i can only find being offered at 1 year.

    A big ask, but can you compare this to the restus to the best of your ability;

I realize you may not be familiar with this brand or design. Equally the description may be lacking....however it does sound remarably alike at the same price point. I have not heard of "connoisseur collection" as opposed to restus/ kozysleep, but as i said it does looks very similar..Any comment appreciated. Mattress buying turns out a bit more complex than i envisioned :)

I've spent weeks looking around stores at mattresses. I'm wary of buying on line without trying but then, the last mattress I bought less than a year ago is so hard I hate it and I did test it in a shop.
So, I like everything I read about the Crystal, but I want to sink into my bed and I wonder whether it will be too hard? I am 10 stone and DH is 13 stone.

Any local independent beds stores around your area?

Pick up the phone and try and find the Crystal in a shop to try it.

I wouldn't say that you sink into that much.

It's more medium to medium firm IMO and I'm 8.5 stone.
