I took out a contract with vodafone through phones4u. I returned the phone before the 2 week grace period and cancelled contract in store a few days before phones4u went I to admin. When I phoned vodafone to try and get my pac code to retain my old number I was told that the contract had not been cancelled and I needed to cancel through phones4u, rang them, phones4u told me I needed to contact vodafone. Eventually vodafone cancelled the contract...or so I thought. I have now gotten a final payment notice for not keeping up payments on my "cancelled" contract with the threat of debt collection agency visiting if I don't payby the end of the week. I have just spent 2 hours (spoke to 16 different people) on the phone to vodafone to be told that they can't do anything and I must ring phones4u. I am just being sent round in circles and getting no joy. How do I get this problem resolved?

See the Vodafone complaints thread and contact the Web Relations Team as instructed on there (hundreds of times).

    Hi mcgeowc2,

So I can take a closer look at this, email me with your details via the link in our profile here.

All you need to do is copy and paste the link into your web browser and it'll take you to the Contact us form on our website. To make sure it reaches me, quote the code WRT135 - MSE in the subject line.

Once sent, you'll receive an automated reply with a reference number. Post back with this and I’ll check I've received it.

    Kind regards,

    Lee

  • If I had a phone stuck at Phones4U repair centre that PWC were refusing to send back, I'd take PWC to small claims court for the cost of the phone.

Administrator companies like PWC are parasites only after one thing, their fee. They walk all over everyone, making employees redundant without a proper consultation period, etc.

Expect a court case on this, just like when Woolworths and all the other big retailers went into administration.

    i corrected you

You have an administrators job all wrong. Their job is NOT to close a company down or make people redundant. That is their last option.

They are brought in as a fresh set of eyes to look over a companies accounts and see how they can help the company survive, if they cant then they will look for a buyer/investors to take the company on as a going concern, if they cant then they will try and sell off part of the companies assets.

Takes Phones4U. part of the business was sold to EE and part to Vodafone (stores and staff), then the rest remained were liquidated

Many companies that go into administration never go into liquidation

They still don't follow the rules e.g consultation period on redundancies.

how can they when the company is liquidated (closed with immediate effect). When a company calls in administrators , all staff should be informed of this and the administrators will have informed staff that redundancies could be a possibility. Also administrators do have the backing of the law.
  • Mobilejunkie I have tried Vodafone complaints, where you must enter your Vodafone number, as the account is suspended it does not recognise and hangs up.

Lee I have tried contacting as you described. Once I submit my query it says that you are tweaking your website and the query doesn't appear to have been submitted.

I wasn't (and never do) recommend using their complaints proceedure - that just leads to hours of ever increasing problems. I was referring to the Web Relations Team (Lee as you mention). Check you put the exact heading in your email or it won't get through (WRT135 - MSE).

I think you are getting confused with "Administration" and "Liquidated".

A company is still trading when in Administration. Only after the profitable parts have been sold on, then the leftover scraps are Liquidated.

I've worked for a company that entered administration before, thankfully I wasn't made redundant and got transferred to the new company that was salvaged under TUPE regulations. The original company that entered administration was then put into liquidation.
