There's some people on eBay that can extend the warranty for you if you're only a few days out.0

EE and Vodafone both considered a takeover of Phones4U.
Currys Dixons merges with Carphone Warehouse , and is then rather stuck in the fact that they have an instore presence of Phones4U.
What happens next is disgracefull and should be investigated.
Vodafone and EE refuse to deal with Phones4U - making them go bust - then gets their stores on the cheap.
Their only contracted retailer, Dixons Carphone, manages to get rid of an unwanted tenant from their stores, and also picks up staff and stores.
How, in 2014 can three companies get together and deliberately bankrupt a rival. Its wrong!
Wheres the Competition Commission when you need em!!!!!0 -

Quite a frothy little rant there, a pity it's devoid of much fact...
You need to read the thread, the reasons for P4U going bust are discussed further back, and the private equity firm who took over and then paid themselves a £200 million dividend are the prime cause.====0 -

What claptrap - as owners they can take out what they want. Its their money
Unlike the thieves at RBS and Lloyds - awarding themselves MILLIONS in bonuses - taking money part owned by taxpayers.
They havent gone bust have they?0 -

That's just it, no it wasn't really their money, they pulled the dividend and left P4U in so much debt it had no way of continuing operations.
Do yourself a favour and read up about it.
For exampleThe private equity firm behind Phones 4U has, far from losing money on its brief ownership of the business, made a profit of millions of pounds despite the retailer’s collapse this week with the likely loss of thousands of jobs.
When BC Partners bought the business from its previous backers in 2011, it only put in about £200m of its own cash.
It then borrowed £205m from City lenders and, with a top-up of cash from the business, paid itself a dividend of £223m. Sources at the firm confirmed last night that it had not spent any more of its funds’ money on the failed business since then, meaning it has made a profit of £18m on the deal. While that may not be a huge amount by private equity deal standards, it will be hard to swallow for the 5,500 staff who expect to lose their jobs.====0 -
I got this email on Tuesday 18th Nov:
'You may have recently heard that EE, the UK's biggest and fastest mobile network, has acquired LIFE Mobile.
As a customer of LIFE Mobile there will be no changes to your services and all the contact details you have for us remain unchanged.
We look forward to sharing with you our exciting new plans over the coming months. Please note that EE Limited is now responsible for managing your information. If you have any questions please email us at talktous@lifemobile.co.uk or call us on 500 from your mobile.
Thanks,
The LIFE Mobile Team'
Funny thing is last night I went to visit a blog on my phone and wasn't connected to my home wifi, I got a message saying it was blocked due to having content unsuitable for under 18s (it was a beauty blog !) and if I wanted to remove the block I had to enter my credit card details. As I'd just come home from working as a doorman at 3am, I was too tired. I connected to my wifi and was granted access
Anyway I guess EE will put the prices up, can I get out of my contract although I've got another year on it ? (I know silly me wanting a phone ASAP & signing a 2yr contract !!)

Cancellation of Service
As you may be aware, on 15 September 2014 Jump 4U Limited entered administration and Robert John Moran, Robert Jonathan Hunt and Ian David Green (each licenced insolvency practitioners of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP) were appointed as administrators (the Administrators).
Following a review of the business of Jump 4U Limited (in administration) (Jump), the Administrators have determined that with effect from 23 November 2014, Jump will shut down its business and will cease to provide services to Jump customers under their Jump contracts. No further payments will be collected from any Jump customer after 24 October 2014 however, Jump customers will continue to receive the data back up and technical support services for which they pay under their Jump contracts until 23 November 2014. From 24 October 2014 Jump will waive any future payments that Jump customers may be obliged to make under their contracts.
All Jump customers will be entitled to retain their mobile handsets.
Jump customers should be aware that their contract for airtime is separate from their contract with Jump, as such, the airtime contract is unaffected by this announcement.

Would anyone be kind enough to let me know if they have received their phone back from phones4u repair service. It's been 11 weeks since I left it at the shop and each time I phone customer services I get a different estimated date for it to be returned to me. It's an expensive phone that I cannot afford to replace. Just wondering if they are keeping me stringing along or has anyone actually had their phone back? Thank you.0

Hi,
when I took out my contract I was sold the insurance care plan with P4U also, pretty much on the grounds that I would get a minimum trade-in price of £100 on my phone when it came time to upgrade.
well, just tried ringing both the administrators and the Insurance company and they both deny responsibility just literally passing me back and forth between them.
Do I just give up (and sulk about it) and write off the 2 years worth of insurance money? I only took it out because of this so its really annoying.0 -
Hi,
Apologies if this has already been covered in a previous post.
I took out a 24 month mobile orange contract (via Dial-a-phone) a few weeks before they announced administration. It appears that I have lost my £150 cash-back redemption.
As far as I can gather, Orange (EE) will honour contacts to Sept 2015. What will happen after that date, will I be able to leave the contact early? Who owns the hand-set?
Thanks in advance.0
