  • Took an in warranty faulty mobile into local p4u last wed (10th),

Have contacted repair centre, who say it was not collected/sent for repair as advised, and presumed to be in now closed store.
    Any suggestions?

Hi, my partner has an iPhone at the minute from phones 4u but under 02 contract. If there's a fault with the phone itself not the network who repairs it?

If the repair hasn't started it's unlikely to be done now (I'd think). More likely you'll get it sent back and have to send it to the manufacturer for a fix...

Does this mean for me that having just bought SIM free Motorola if there is a warranty problem and as I cannot go to the retailer any longer do I have consumer rights to go to Motorola or is it based on their good will?

    Thanks

Well, you can't go the retailer as it won't exist anymore. Even if someone buys the P4U name, that's all they'll buy. They're unlikely to take on the old firms liabilities.
Motorola, I think, have a 2 year limited warranty on all their phones, so it would be a matter of just sending to them.

You will have a 12 or 24m manufacturer's warranty in place.

I got through to the Repair Centre last night and was then referred to Head Office. My phone is in the local shop like yours but I was assured that it would be sent for repair when the Administrators have made decisions which would be within the next 72 hours. This is the number if you would like to ring them with your booking reference 08448712231 then press the hash key. I would be interested to know what they tell you.

Pretty sure you have 7-14 days to back out of a credit agreement which is what a phone contract is ? You should be able to return the phone and cancel the contract as long as you act fast and don't use the stuff.

Unless bought online any return is a gesture of goodwill me not a legal requirement

    True.

P4U Never offered any in store returns if you changed your mind unless the network offered a 14 day returns guarantee.
  • My husband got a phones 4 u contract on Friday on ee , reception in house and surrounding area very poor, contacted phones 4 u and was told to contact ee on which we did got a lovely girl called Ciara who done a number of test and told my husband that they were unable to offer a full service in our area and to end the new contract.

Contacted phones 4 u today and they said as they were in administration ee has to cancel the contract.

After an hour and a half on the phone to ee to cancel contract (less than helpfull) we are still left in a situation of not getting contract ended!!!

What road do we go down now, we are willing to return mobile but where to ???
