well the fact that as per the contract i took out i will not be able to change my handset in six months time which is what i signed up for, I dont expect to keep the handset for free but the option to cancel the contract and return the handset would be nice as the service no longer exists. just a thought.0 -

What does your contract say about cancelling? You can probably pay off your handset I'm full if you wish. I can't see you getting out of your obligations.0 -
Apologies if this has already been answered but I'm confused as to why the company has shut it's business down this week.
According to the article EE will not be renewing their contract when it expires in September 2015 and Vodafone will not be renewing their contract when it expires in 2015.
Which to me seems to be saying that everything is exactly the same until 2015 as it was last week and the week before that ect so why have Phones 4U suddenly closed down now rather than keep trading while looking for a buyer?0 -

Sounds like they are trying to act as responsibly as possible rather than trade to the last dieing moment with no cash reserves etc and leave everyone up s**t creek.
I noticed they said everyone who has ordered phones will get refunds. This isn't the norm and they should applauded for it.
Its over to the administrators now to make a judgement on if they can reopen. Although it sounds like the only viable business less is the LIFE mobile offering.0 -
They're waiting for the administrators to decide whether or not it is possible to continue trading. It is the administrators' duty to ensure that the company's creditors get as much of their money back as possible and they may decide that continuing to trade is likely to result in the creditors receiving less of their money back than if they stayed closed.
People will be wary of buying from a company that won't be around much longer and many of their staff are likely to be already looking for other jobs. They may feel reopening will do more harm than good.0 -
I genuinely feel for all those affected by the demise of P4U, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Mobiles Co UK don't end up going the same way as I've begun four contracts last weekend which with cashback will only cost me the equivalent of 47p/month having successfully run two contracts @ 62p/month with Mobiles Co UK which have paid out cashback for the full duration without any real issues.....
Hopefully their merge with Dixons Group will strengthen them and see me through the next 24 months and beyond.4kw PV fitted 4th July 2014 (Green Energy NW £5600). You did very well to get four contracts from them in a few days - they have limits on the number you can get in a set period; I assume some weren't in your name?0

That's correct, two in my name and two in my wife's name, they, from experience, set limit at two contracts/person not sure if its M.C.UK's policy or that of TalkMobile anyway all arrived safely and numbers should port today.4kw PV fitted 4th July 2014 (Green Energy NW £5600). Hi - I signed up to a contract with Phone4u just before the announcement. It came with a free kindle and £50 cashback...will they honour this? Got an email saying the phone has been dispatched....can I return the phone and cancel contract if they back out of the extras? what are my options?
Tried ringing their customer services....but you just get a recorded message that they have no available reps and to logon to their website...which is down!!!! Complete Joke!!!0 -

Pretty sure you have 7-14 days to back out of a credit agreement which is what a phone contract is ? You should be able to return the phone and cancel the contract as long as you act fast and don't use the stuff.0
