I have purchased the above online for the trial price of £1.00 but did not receive a order acknowledgment. Then 12 days later the company have taken a further £99.99 when I questioned this they have stated that when ordering the trial item I signed up to their program! I have cancelled it but have no recollection of entering into a contract and have read on my consumer rights that it is banned from automatically ticking boxes such as for additional payments, that I should not have to opt out of these add ons. I have gone back to the company and advised them of this but they have said that they can only give me a refund of £20, Can anyone advise how I can get my money back?

I don't sorry, there are people on here who should be able to help you though. I just tested it as the first thing people will do will check to make sure that it wasnt in the T&c's or fine print or anything. I wasn't pointed towards any T&c's or clicked any box, just paying £1 for the box.
What you should be able to do is go to your bank and make them reverse the transaction.0 -

I did the same... and of course saw the same as you did.

Oh I feel a fool alright! That contact number is not valid though as I did try to call them. Is their nothing I can do?? £99.99 is such a lot of money just to lose!0

Yes, as Marliepanda already advised, try your bank.0

Make sure you get the bank to stop any future payments too, with a written instruction. These scams are becoming more common (several threads on here) and the firms are always based abroad so out of the reach of trading standards.0

And never give your card details to unknown companies.0
-
Thank you all for your advise, have gone back to bank who are investigating it further.0

Also am I right in thinking that the terms are void as that contact number is invalid??0
