You sound quite like my neighbour - She called the police on me because I apparently slightly parked over her drive.

The police attented my house and talked to me about it and said they couldnt do anything as I wasnt doing anything wrong and not parking in front of someones drive is just a courtesy.

I think the best way of dealing with this would be to talk nicely to them - Sending a soliciters letter has prob just made it worse for you as in Scotland theres no law to say you cant park infront of someones drive.

There may not be an actual law, but I can obtain an Interdict against the neighbour from parking over the driveway in any form or manner. This has been the case in several instances in Scotland. I don't want to be best friends with any of the neighbours so don't care what people think any longer.

I paid for my driveway unlike a lot of people who put them in illegally without the permission of local housing and council.

At the end of the day it is causing a danger no matter what people are saying.

You obviously deem it acceptable to park in front of someones driveway where I don't and have never parked over a dropped kerb. Dropped kerbs are also a point of access for wheelchair users or blind people so therefore can affect people with severe disabilities.
  • Put dogsh1t under the door handle.
I don't even like people parking outside my house.

You dont have to like it, just lump it.:rotfl:
  • Well it depends on the quality of vehicle that's parking there!
  • well, it is still happening, Housing Office now isn't even bothering to respond to us, feel like I can't go out of my own home without coming home to no space. It's getting beyond a joke. Just think no-one cares although we paid the Council to put in the driveway. Her wheel is right behind the start of the drop but not over the actual drop. It's a one-way street as I've already stated which means I can't go the other way and I don't believe (even it was a two-way street) I should have to go the opposite way because of someone so inconsiderate.

Just pull past and reverse in; thats what I do when someone is overhanging the driveway. If you can get in/out its not worth getting in a stew about.

It may be worth considering painting a White "H" Line at the entrance of your drive, although this option is still advisory, but the neighbour may get the message. Think that there may be a Highway Dept charge for this service?

Get one of your other neighbours to park their car in front of this senseless idiot so that the bumpers are nearly touching, then park your car behind - again up really close. Then go out for the day.
I did that when somebody with an IQ of just 2 parked across my driveway - haven't had the problem since. Yes , I know, a bit childish and petty, but as you have found out it's no good trying to argue reasonably with these prats - they just haven't got the intellect to do so. Therefore I'm afraid you have to drag yourself down to their level and give them a taste of their own medicine.
