had similar problems in the past has stopped now after reporting to council couple times and the cars being ticketed hopefully wont start again but another thing you can do is buy a pack of concrete slabs for £20-£40 and put it in where your neighbour parks they will soon get the message dno if this is legal tho as its public road

It is easy to get annoyed but is it worth it? We are the only house in the road with off street parking, the rest is permit parking for residents or visitors. We have a dropped kerb and most people respect it. Sometimes they overhang the white line but I can see how hard it is to park around here and just let it go. What annoys me, if I let it, is the big vans that people park overnight or at weekends making it really difficult to see to get out safely. I have to get my husband to come out and guide me, just in case. But, is it worth getting too annoyed? I really don't think so. Sometimes you just have to let some things go or you end up making yourself ill. Just my opinion.
  • If it was me, I'd either park my car on the road over the drive until they got the message, or stick a trolley jack under the back of their car and move their car whenever I wanted to be out, they'll get !!!!ed off when they see you jacking their car up.

Would doing this not damage the gearbox if you moved it when they'd left the car in gear?

Another situation where a big bag of bird seed would come in handy.......

  • You have NO right to ask someone to move from where they are if they are:

    1. Not covering your dropped kerb. Just because you can't see was well as you would LIKE to see doesn't mean you can ask someone to move
    2. If they are not directly parking ON your driveway. No matter how annoying they are, if they are not parked ON your driveway at all, then you cannot ask them to move.

You haven't made it clear 100%. Could you please provide a photo of the contravention?

Aaah! the inevitable veiled threat of criminal damage. You always get one followe by the response of 'but didn't you see the smilies' when it gets mentioned.

Also to follow up on the 'accidentally' hitting the other car with yours, the owner is quite within their rights, and it has been done, to go through MCOL and claim for the increased insurance costs due to having to declare the incident(s) for the next 5 years.
