  • Good luck with the decluttering, i'm doing the same seeing as though i'm home alone with the kids for two weeks (and bored). I am sort of following the marie kondo approach although I haven't read her book and I did our clothes over the last few days. Thing was after I threw out all my stuff that didn't fit/had holes in etc I had barely anything left and so have just cleaned out my clothing budget that I was building up on replacing items :o ! I did the kids clothes and have thrown out 2 bags worth (charity shop or selling not in the actual bin) they helped me do it and they still have a wardrobe full of stuff :o so they clearly had way too much in the first place!

Eight loads of washing done dried and ironed whilst pottering with incredibly boring tv on in background. Kids relaxing with their screens of different varieties. Didn't step out of the house but have got lots of bits and pieces done.
DD cooked a lovely roast with guidance - couldn't have done it better myself. :D

Feeling very restless though, and not quite content - can't work out why. Everything seems to be a bit in limbo. Was thinking about not having seen close friends for ages and that I seem to have become quite reclusive. Feel like everything has become very telescopic. Usually have a very busy get together at Easter at ours - a ort of mini Christmas, but having just been down to my parents during the week, I decided to say put. Guess am missing seeing siblings and their families.

Will try and get out and go shopping tomorrow:) for clothes and shoes. Working again on Tues/Weds.

Ought to go and sit with rest of the family now, escaped for a little bit of me time, get my thoughts out here rather than get cross with them;)
Have a lovely bank Hol Monday everyone :)

Thank you Granny - it was at home and very quiet and very domestic, but everyone home so I was quite content, but missed having our usual big family get together. I hope you had a lovely Easter with DD, I loved the new avatar. What lovely memories you will have of your time in Oz :)

Hi DFW321, I have two wardrobes of outgrown kids clothes, most in excellent condition - just never had the time to list on ebay or facebook or gumtree. Lots of beautiful party dresses (dry clean only!) worn once or twice only etc. Really need to make time to sort out. Love the Easter smilies :)

    Good Morning Noah...!

I have a very similar situation with work clothes and even dd pointed out the other day.. mum you have a hole in your top....oops.. think I need to bite the bullet and take a trip to primani or mattalan.. M & S just isn't in my budget.. although I do have a gift card which dd gave me for mothers day so may try there as well...

Good luck with your Easter spring clean.. I have a head cold so can't see much more than the normal cleaning taking place here.. like you, no one else ever joins in..

Hope you get to do some R & R over the weekend...

    Morning Puzz,
Sorry you have been poorly - hope you are feeling better by now. Planning to go shopping today - have given myself a £100 budget. plus I have a £40 Next gift card from Christmas.

I remain stuck at 10st 10lb and cant' seem to get kick started. am doing a few minutes of cross trainer steps every day but haven't managed to build up, hoping the gardening will help increase fitness as weather gets better.

We have a posh do at a London Hotel in August and I want to look a bit less preggers for then.

Am struggling with bloatedness, now constant acid reflux and feeling full all the time so am worried that stress over the last few years has led to bigger health problems. Keep avoiding going to the dr.

Sunshine calling outside now, perfect day for more washing :)

A quick suggestion, try cutting out gluten & dairy for a week and see if that eases your symptoms. It did mine, I actually cut gluten for 6 months & ate only limited amounts of dairy for 6 months as I felt so good doing so.

I'm loving it over here but am missing home lots today

Hello NOA. Don't be too overly worried by the reflux etc. My dad has been suffering for years with it and after many many many tests and cameras and things it turns out he just eats too much and sits down (slouches!) too long after eating ;) as granny says, try cutting certain things out. Dairy is easily substituted in actual fact and I love my coffee with soya milk and drink my tea black the last few years after cutting it down. Mashed potato is great with soya milk and dairy free butter mixed in ;)

Gluten is one I have been contemplating cutting from Jelly's diet recently. When her dairy intolerance flares, EVERYTHING gets to her until her bowel just gets so inflamed & swollen nothing can get through :(

Hope you are having a lovely Easter Monday! Have tired the child out so much she is sleeping ;) xx

I second Granny's idea of trying to cut out gluten to see if this helps.

I have posted before about cutting out gluten so apologise to anyone that has heard this before.

I also used to feel bloated and full all the time, after meals I would get a really bad pain at the bottom of my sternum and feel nauseous, the only thing that would help is laying down.
I just used to think I had eaten too much as my portion sizes are huge.

Then after a particular bad day it dawned on me that it could be gluten so I decided to cut out gluten for 2 weeks. I thought that 2 weeks was manageable for a gluten fiend like me (toast for breakfast, sandwich for lunch and pasta for tea).

The change in me after 1 day was amazing, I had never felt so well and alert. I had bags more energy and actually stayed up past 8.30pm!!

After 2 weeks I decided that I could not go back to gluten and have cut it out every since. It has nearly been a year now and I don't miss it at all (I have finally perfected gf Yorkshire puddings!!)

Since cutting out gluten I have spoken to others who have only cut out wheat but I have cut out all gluten as even barley malt extract which is found in dark drinks, crisps and chocolate can set me off.

I have never been tested by the GP as I don't know what can be gained from it plus of course you have to go back to eating gluten for a set amount of time and the pain I get is so unbearable it is not worth it.

If you need any ideas about what to eat give us a shout (I am also mainly vegetarian which makes meal times interesting)

    Thanks Granny, Lilty, E-E :)
All great advice and something I I have been thinking I need to try for a while - very difficult for someone who loves bread and cheese! I don't over eat - in fact over last two years have really cut down on portion sizes. It used to be red meat that caused it and we only really have that occasionally now. I have cut out coffee and reduced tea top 1-2 cups per day. Have tried reducing bread but hasn't made much difference - but that's obviously not cutting out gluten.

The acid reflux is constant - not just after meals - and my throat hurts all the time (the worrying bit). Don't have tummy cramps or pains though like some people describe. Jaw aches all the time (bruxism) so have had to wear mouthguard to stop teeth wearing, this has caused neck pain and one sided headache which is there constantly. Chronic insomnia. Never talk much about it as there is no point. Nothing that I can't deal with as there are people who really suffer with much worse, all of it is a nagging background pain and discomfort that never goes away no matter what I try (at least three years now), cannot remember what it feels like to feel 100%:(.

Have no choice now but to try gluten and dairy reduction, so will be grateful for any tips:)

    Well well well.......
Just got a letter from debt recovery agency who bought out one of my debts few months ago, they have said I qualify for a 40% reduction! That's with no prompting on my part I have just been making token payments. This would mean I jump from1% paid to 6% debts paid.
I don't have the money though.:(
So perhaps in longer term they may offer even more reduction?
