I would never have used Ryanair if there had been a suitable time for me with another airline.
Expedia was used to book the hotel and flights in a package deal. I trusted Expedia, simply because why wouldn't iI?
I was not aware of the Ryanair terms of use in terms of the one stating that their flights are exclusive to their own website.
So unless Expedia are breaking the law, they must have some sort of partnership. In any event, despite all your protests, the fact remains that the fess were concealed and unclear to me until the package deal was actually booked.
If that makes me a mug, it makes me a mug, but pardon me for thinking that baggage fees in Ryanair's case are disgustingly overpriced - there was no question of taking a 'lighter' bag or no bag at all...a 10 day stay requires some decent packing.
It doesn't make me 'ignorant' or 'stupid' - what is MSE's slogan...
Cutting your costs, fighting your corner! Yeah right...
What you have booked isn't strictly a package, its a flight + accommodation + transfers if you have transfers included.
At the end of the day Ryanair is a business and has to make a profit and the price of the extras is how they do it. That's why they're called extras because they're a choice not a necessity.0 -

These so called extras are disguised as such to give you the illusion of choice.
That said, if you'd be happy to take absolutely no baggage at all, get a horrible seat on the plane etc. then that's your business.
But what you don't seem to understand is that normal people take luggage away with them. It's absolutely no question whether I take luggage or not.
Rather than argue about it, why can't you see that these fees are needless?0 -

I disagree, I don't know anyone that takes hold luggage on short haul flights any more.
(A Ryanair article from 2013 states only 19% of passengers take hold luggage, so a definite minority. )0 -

What you don't understand, Rory, is that there is no 'normal'.
Everyone's needs are different.
Ryanair's pricing model allows each individual to choose what suits them.
You want to take hold luggage, you pay for it
Those people who don't want it pay a cheaper fare.0 -

But there is a 'normal'.
And according to the airlines, you're not it

I never take hold luggage on a short flight with a low cost carrier and i also dont care where i sit....whats the definition of a horrible seat.
I would rather they kept doing what they are doing and only charge those that do want to take hold luggage0 -

More nonsense. 80% of Ryanair passenger fly with handluggage only. Most people I know don't check luggage, even when they have a free luggage allowance.
Regardless, the issue here is not whether airlines should or should not charge extra for checked luggage. The issue is that you booked without doing any research and without reading the information provided on the screen right in front of you, and it's still somehow not your fault.0 -
Rory, a simple yes or no question for you.
Is all of the information regarding baggage charges available to prospective passengers before they book their flights?
I'll give you a clue as to the answer. It's a three letter word.0
